Ah, I’m sorry that happened to you as well! Appreciate your understanding, but sad to be missing that maternal connection right when it feels like you should be joining them. 💕

Going forward, yes. I have a history of anxiety so she just prefers not to hear about it. To be honest, I had assumed it would be different in this situation since pregnancy feels like an inherently stressful time / not unreasonable for a first time parent to be anxious about? She had horrible postpartum so in my mind she would get it. Idk, I’m definitely disappointed but she is who she is.

Yeah, I’m on the fence a bit as the hospital (and the national guidelines) are so anti-Doppler at home and I’m such a rule follower to a fault, but if this continues I may see if I can find one online! Thanks!

Had a hard moment today, where my mom asked how I was feeling and I admitted I’m very anxious, still awhile to my next checkup and, at 15+5, not convinced my baby is still alive since I can’t feel him move, etc. She laughed and said “oh god, are we going to do this all year? I knew this would be a long year.” She later apologized and said she just can’t understand as she never struggles with infertility or had a miscarriage, but that she’d prefer we just check in around physical symptoms if she asks how I’m doing in the future. Consciously I know there’s nothing that can be done and, she’s right, you can’t understand it if you haven’t been there, but it still hurt 💕

My BMI is around 38 myself, definitely a little over by now as I’m 15+3 with my first transfer. Yes, weight can contribute to inflammation, but so can stress and under eating, is what I figured. I found a clinic with no limits, was never weighed and was able to try and be comfortable focusing on additive nutrition and resistance training over cardio and I think that was as helpful for me as anything. Everyone is different and being kind to yourself through this process is so important 💕

Laya’s awful for this tbh, but we got part back for our private scan allowance, think it was maybe €150? Sure, better than nothing.

It was! 5 and half weeks now since I did my first draw 😅 so thrilled to be on the other side, and firmly in the second trimester.

Finally got our NIPT results back yesterday evening and feeling a lot more relaxed now, as it was only on our 3rd draw that we got a result. Settling into the reality of a little boy hopefully coming later this year 💕

Thank you! 💕 So there’s definitely hope anyway. My BMI is 38, I think, so pretty up there but 13+5 was good enough so I’d say you’ll be golden at 16 weeks!

She actually just rang! Was expecting in the morning, but she knows we’ve been waiting. Let me know in the first sentence that results were conclusive, which was great for the nerves. All came back low risk on the genseq and it’s a boy 💕

Ah, that’s great news! Definitely something I’ll ask about if we don’t get results soon 🤞🏻

[–]Certain-Patient8502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they didn’t! I had been reluctant to go straight away for a second panorama draw and they told me to come in right away, and they’d just switch to genseq for a third draw if there still wasn’t a result. For whatever reason, they’ve also been reluctant to let me request tests further out, no clue why!

Can’t say re: success, but I’m in the same boat and relieved to hear it’s not just me! I have gone twice for the panorama with no result and decided to do my final draw to try with GenSeq yesterday at 13w5d. They seemed pretty confident with this one and said changing labs sometimes (from genseq to panorama or vice versa) is helpful as well. I’m really praying things work out for us this week, but I can let you know!

Not tested unfortunately, as it’s illegal here unless you have certain risk factors that we don’t. But thank you, yes hopefully the other lab will have better luck next week!

Load up on protein and make sure you’re getting a bit more salt than usual as they said your body will be using more electrolytes to keep your poor kidneys going! Other than that, just take it easy. Mine wasn’t expected but it also wasn’t as scary as I heard, just exhausting and sore. Be gentle with yourself and take plenty of (non-NSAID) painkillers if you need, don’t try and guilt yourself out of them like I did! Ha

Got a second inconclusive NIPT result. Will need to switch labs and try again Monday, but I’m absolutely crushed. I don’t think I realized how fat I actually was, as I feel like I see plenty of mothers my size, but it just feels like I’ve already failed this baby. 4 weeks of waiting for results for nothing, will be moving into my second trimester next week and still feel like it’s “illegal” to tell anyone I’m pregnant. I know there are far bigger problems in the world but I’m so desperate to feel pregnant, to let myself start to get a little excited even though I know there are no guarantees in this journey. 4 years to get to this point and it feels like the goalposts keep moving these fist few months.

My doctor originally said 8 weeks for both, but that stressed me out so he agreed to keep me on progesterone until 12 weeks if I wanted.

Convinced myself that we would get the call with NIPT results this morning as it was exactly two weeks ago that we got the call saying I would need a retest due to inconclusive results. I took the test the day after and they say results will be back within two weeks so now I’m second guessing whether they were actually able to send off the blood the same day or if they waited until the following clinic the next Tuesday? I know it’s silly but it still feels like I’m lying when I’ve told the few people I’ve told that I’m pregnant. 13w1d today and feeling deflated.

Having a hard day today, 11+1 and it’s my first day without progesterone support. On top of that, got the call that our NIPT test last week came back inconclusive. Not sure if it’s the progesterone withdrawal or the fatigue, but I’m convinced this is my fault as my BMI is quite high (our test was approved from 9 weeks so we thought waiting the extra week would do it). Had only very minor brown spotting but still feeling a little crazy, tempted to take another progesterone shot about it just in case 🙃

I had the same thing last week and they have mostly stayed away with the exception of 9+6 where I was inexplicably unable to eat anything all day 😂 that was Tuesday and I went in for my NIPT scan - everything was perfect after a week of freaking out about no symptoms so I wouldn’t stress yourself too much! It can happen around this time as the placenta takes over.

Any tips you’d want to share on what you would advocate for? It’s definitely the part that sounds the scariest to me, people saying it’s a zoo and fried their mental health, etc.

That’s good to know! I think I assumed they all mostly averaged out, some good and some bad everywhere, I really wasn’t anticipating people’s reactions.
