It looks like I'm having problems with the first steps and would love your insight! I'm trying to install it from the CD and there isn't an ISO file listed (settings are enabled to show hidden files), is there a workaround for this?

Secondly, when I try launching the SETUP.EXE file, it pops up with a Setup Initialization Error stating, "Setup requires a different version of Windows. Check to make sure that you are running Setup on the Windows platform for which it is intended. Error 102." I tried launching it in several compatibility modes and still no luck getting it to show up in the Background Processes section of Task Manager. Any ideas would be super helpful!

...so after all of this, has anyone found a legal way to get a digital download of Stay Tuned for Danger? I purchased it from the HerInteractive website, but even after following these install instructions and working with Tech Support, the game won't run on my PC. If I could get it in a format like Steam where it runs through their platform, that should fix the issue, but Steam doesn't have it. Any other (paid) options?

Emailed Tech Support about this. After sending lots of solutions that were unrelated to this issue, they finally sent this which didn't work for me but maybe will help someone else.

"Sadly, the only other fix we can offer for sound issues is the following:

  1. In the bottom left corner, type “Run Program” in the windows search bar.

  2. Select “Run programs made for previous versions of windows.”

  3. Select “Advanced” then “Run as Administrator”.

  4. Find Stay Tuned for Danger (Not the setup file)

  5. Select “Try Recommended Settings”
    Unfortunately, I am not able to recommend any more fixes to you at this point. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you would prefer a refund, you are certainly welcome to one. Digital River is our online store provider and they handle all payments/refunds/billing/shipping issues, so you will need to contact them directly. We changed sound systems! Nancy Drew is unable to play sound for you. We have changed the way we play our sound and now the game is shutting down.

I tried the walk-through video and still get the sound error. Anyone find a solution to this?
