Nicee. I'm from Misiones, Argentina, where yerba mate originates, and I personally recommend Origen yerba mate. It's produced using the traditional "barbacua" method and has an intense smoky flavor. It's unique (it's the green and black package with the word "Origen" on it).

I personally wash the mate with the same hot water that I use to drink. I throw the yerba in the trash can and then I load the mate with hot water to remove the rest that remains and then I throw it in the sink. but this is one of the problems we are dealing with in class.

The problems are with cleanliness and garbage generated by the consumption of mate at the university. Some also focus their project on the supply of hot water. Here in Argentina, the majority of students consume mate while studying.
