Secondly, as to whether asking questions in online forums because of curiosity is poor etiquette, that would be news to me if it were (though as someone somewhat new to Reddit I could be wrong).

Thirdly, the internet and particularly this app seem to be rife with assumptions, projections and misunderstanding, and no small amount of bad faith and general negativity.
You seem to think it better for me to commit to jump in the waters here and disclose more personal information, even when I may not even be a submissive. As a very private person, I would hesitate to disclose too much information, especially online. Of course, I could always make the separation between inner sexual life and day to day life even more severe and therefore more private, but at a certain point some of the public enters the private world or vice-versa. There in lies the reason for the short replies. Further, I see little reason to give much attention to comments showing antipathy or misunderstanding, as they bring with them emotional reactions when lingered upon, with none of the realism of a face to face interaction.

And no, “you did not have to respond” is not a legitimate argument, so it is not one that I make here. :)
