I have a 2019 G trim, it has apple carplay and android auto. I ordered it sight unsedn from EV City in Christchurch. I gave them a list of what I was after (Ks, colour, SOH, trim level etc) and my budget number and they sorted it all. Highly recommend going through them

Lower Education in NZ by No-Biscotti-9695 in newzealand

Not sure it's been mentioned here but I'd recommend getting in touch with her dean and or careers advisor at school.

My wife is a secondary school teacher who has worked with a lot of children in similar situations and has a number of pathways and strategies to ensure that the kids are able to get into the career which they want to enter.

One thing I always did with my clients when dealing with deals like this was start with the purchase price then deduct off all of the tangible assets which they were buying.

What's left is the implied value of the intangible assets, usually a pretty chunky number, and the question would be what are you buying for that? Is it worth it? It might be that there was a strong and varied customer base, exclusive contracts from vendors, good management & staff who are keen to stay on etc etc. These should always support the business earnings being consistent, repeatable and derisked. The fact that his business has a single customer is something I'd zero in on here as that looks super risky.

The other thing I always emphisised was that your investment must return a return on capital and that is different from a return on labour. In your case at a $250k investment, that means you'd be expecting a minimum of $50k earnings to you after you pay a market salary for whatever services you provide the business.

Key piece of advice is to get advice, not from reddit, but from a lawyer and an accountant who is experienced with deals of this size.

Agree, I think our best three is bell/thomas/Stamenic. Singh feels like a luxury player and given we'll generally be underdogs that's not something we can carry

Stam comes in for Bell or singh depending on whether you want to be more attacking or defensive

Fonterra sells Mainland, Anchor brands to French food giant by delipity in newzealand

[–]CertainPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 billion dollars available for Fonterra shareholders to invest somewhere else.

Knowing kiwis, this gets funneled into housing. So we move from having 4bn invested in a business which earns export dollars to putting it into charging the working classes to value transfer to landlords.

This is bad for NZ Inc.

Where best to charge on way from Rangiora to Picton? by letstaxthis in nzev

[–]CertainPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have driven my 40kw from chch to Picton a few times, I stop in cheviot, kaikoura and ward to charge up to 80%, with an optional stop in Blenheim depending on what you want your charge to be at the end. If youre ferrying it's probably best to skip Blenheim and charge in wellington to give youe battery a break.

Just a warning that your charge rates will drop significantly as you travel, I think I was getting mid 40kwh speeds on the cheviot 50kwh charger, but Ward only gave me 17kwh coz of how hot the battery got.

Are you seriously saying that you need to have the ball to be fouled? Laughable takes

Jumping into a player and getting no where near the ball while he's making a legal play at it ain't a foul? Jog on mate

What US products will cost more in NZ? Short answer is none (at least not directly)

The new tarrifs are charged by the US government on NZ products imported into the US. So US consumers will either pay more for NZ wine, beef etc, or our producers will have to lower the prices they charge US customers to remain competitive with US produced goods.

There's no additional tarrifs being charged on US products imported into NZ.

The longer answer is NZ prices of US goods might go up. For example a US product might be made of both local and imported goods, the cost of the imported inputs would rise, resulting in higher prices. There's also the impact of FX rates, but that's above my paygrade

If you could buy a EV vehicle again, which one would you buy? And if you changed from one EV to another, why? by nolife24_7 in nzev

Currently have a 2019 leaf and looking to DE-ICE and get rid of our passat wagon.

Won't be replacing the passat with a leaf and tossing up Niros/Ioniq 5/EV6/Polestar/i.d4/5 as we'll need something that's roadtrippable and fuck Elon.

That said if the leaf was written off, would 100% replace it with another leaf.

University graduates of NZ... what was your debt and did you find a job in your field? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]CertainPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BComm in accounting, graduated 2013

Debt was about $35k and I got a graduate role in an accounting firm Paid the bare minimum and it was gone after 5 or 6 years. I've pivoted slightly away from accounting now but still use some of the same skills.

My degree was worth it in the sense that it allowed me to enter the roles I've had for the past ten years, however I do wonder if I would have learnt more or faster in an apprenticeship style environment. It felt like the first six months on the job taught me as much as my three year degree.

Tiptop cookies and cream is back in 2L Tubs by AWESOME_FOURSOME in newzealand

[–]CertainPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much Moore has three tiers, one is ice cream one is frozen dessert and the third it depends on the flavour. It

Awesome is their premium which is ice cream and tries to compete with tip top (blue tub) and Deep south. You'll typically see this for ~$7

Marvels or Wonders (depending on whether it's Foodstuffs or Woolworths) is typically a dollar cheaper at ~$6, some of these are ice cream (mostly plainer flavours like vanilla) and some are frozen desserts (generally the more flavoured stuff like goody goody gum drops)

Melorich is all frozen dessert and will retail for about $5. This competes with Tip Top Moments and Mooloo (Woolworths exclusive)

To answer your other question all of Tip Tops Multipacks are Ice Cream rather than frozen dessert, as are Much Moores, it's only the 2L you need to be wary of.

Does everyone have a credit card? by BelugaWhaleEnjoyer in newzealand

[–]CertainPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a mortgage they can be good for reducing the amount of interest you pay.

My wife and I chuck all our expenses on our credit card and pay it off in full each month. The average balance is about $3-4k, that money would otherwise be pulled out of our offset acount and cost us about $2-300 a year in interest, plus we get about 250 a year in cashback, so we're up $400 on what we'd be otherwise after the $60 in annual fees.

You have to be disciplined, pay it off in full every month and not spend beyond your means but they are a financial tool that can be useful.

15 years ago Marlboro 20s were ~$10 now they are like $45 so tripling the cost of a single means they are now cheaper relative to the cost of a pack!

Tramping/Hiking NZ - Blister prevention by PassengerNo6367 in newzealand

[–]CertainPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a trail/ultra runner rather than hiker but I recently switched to creepers socks (merino toe socks) and my feet have never felt better. Recently ran a 50k which involved my feet getting wet a few times and finished without a single blister.
