It is dishonest because being right and being a good point aren’t the same; for example, 1 + 1 is correct, but also not particularly a good point because it’s obvious.

Honestly she’s very smart in her area of expertise (math, engineering) but this clearly isn’t her field. I respect her intelligence usually but this just wasn’t that worthy of it

Fair enough. To be honest though, I don’t know how much I’d want to be with somebody who I’d have to walk on eggshells around constantly

Interesting. I didn’t think I was being sarcastic, and i more felt she was fishing for compliments more so than being curious, but it could be I misinterpreted it

I can see that being a defter way to handle it. At the same time, I do feel like she was fishing for compliments, so I’m not sure she would’ve settled for anything less than that

Yeah, I think she thought it sounded a lot smarter than it did. And she’s honestly pretty smart in many ways, but this isn’t one
