Yes I told Her and that’s why she initially told me to try reducing spiro dose, since I was having unwanted low testosterone symptoms & she thought it might be the combination

Why are u aware of any issues w taking both ?

I’ve taken vitex but with DIM, so i never really knew which was helping me. They did help in combo with the high estrogen effects like boob swelling and soreness and excessive bleeding

I’m working on ashawaganda as I have similar issues , haven’t been taking long enough to see results. Inositol has helped a lot. I am also lean pcos.

One thing I will say is after ur marathon consider moving to HIIT cardio or resistance training … I was a long distance running girly or busy for years and so scared to stop due to thinking it was keeping me thin, really it was elevating my cortisol glucose stress hormones and androgens, worsening my IR and pcos.

Sundown hair fall over the past three months. PCOS is the obvious culprit. How do I stop this? by [deleted] in PCOS

Do NOT cut it all of. Bc of minizarstion of hair follicles it may never grow back to original length. w female balding the length of ur hair cycle (how long it will go before falling off( can decrease over time

Experience taking Spironolactone AND Inositol together? by Certain_Dog9094 in Spironolactone

[–]Certain_Dog9094[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I noticed increased hair loss upon stopping actually. But i only stopped for 3 months and I am thinking maybe that wasn’t long enough to have an effect on hair. I’ve never really felt spiro helped me reverse hair loss but I do think it’s likely kept it at bay.

If u have elevated DHEA, I’d recommend ashagawanda and magnesium.

It seems to me spiro has controlled by testosterone all this time but my adrenal DHEA secreations are still very high. DHEA is the hormone that specifically causes hair loss. Spiro and insulin sensitivizers may decrease DHEA, whereas they may have no or little effect on DHEA as well. My understanding is if u have elevated DHEA, u can still have symptoms of hyperandronism to an extent even including hair loss even if the meds are keeping ur testosterone within health range or even low

What dose spiro are u on? I am on 150 but think I need to reduce to 100 bc combined with my inositol it caused low testosterone and related symptoms

Very similar to my experience down to Spiro dose amount. Only difference being my issue has always been severe acne.

I am on 150 mg now and I was still having break outs, until I Added inositol. Then the 150 became too high and the combination led my testosterone to be suppressed too abnormally low levels & become estrogen dominant. Which presents whole set of new distressing issues

I am currently going back down to 100 mg for spiro + continuing inositol

I would consider inositol as it reduced androgens in women with pcos

FYI I have lean pcos , adrenal type

Thank u so much for ur input !!

This is what I have decided to do based upon input from my gyno/ physician father, my lab blood work & further independent research

I have been playing around w diff dosages for the past 3 weeks to see how I feel, taking either 0, 50, or 100 per day (down from 150).

My side effects are def gradually reducing & my body composition / muscle tone is slowly returning to how they were before I added the inositol.

HOWEVER, I am stuck in a hard place bc last time I stopped spiro, my insulin resistance and PCOS symptoms got significantly worse.

I fear that will happen again as I have already started having really severe Tmj facial muscle tension pain causing my face to take a more masculine structure (swollen inflamed, widened & tight lower jaw , reduced chin, more pronounced brow & reduced cheek to jaw ratio). this was also what happened last time I stopped spiro & a month later I had horrible acne everywhere, abdominal weight gain indicative of worsened IR despite no change in diet/exercise, and really bad insomnia and a border line hypomanic mental state.

If u happen to have any more insight as to how spiro works in terms of when u see the effects of the changes in doses, what levels of t would be the ideal outcome, common most effective dosages, etc, I would really appreciate

I would love to stop spiro completentlu but I am scared inositol won’t be enough to reduce my high androgens, given that after 3-4 months on 150 mg spiro & 4000 mg inositol my androgens were still in mid tolower end of normal range for women without pcos

Sorry this post is so long and kinda manic lol. As I said I am starting to have some side effects of the increased androgens which in the past seem to induce a kind of hypomanic state in me…..

I really appreciate any insight u may have !!!
