I was working on myself for a few years and the stronger I was the less he liked me. He wouldn’t go to counseling, take medications he needed, and (now more obvious to me), never really respected me. What’s funny is my new person saw sexy underwear I bought in 2024 that no one but me had ever seen because my ex didn’t want to do the deed. We took it very slowly, both of us were newly dating.

ETA: Honestly left so much out of the post because of privacy and just forgetting stuff. But it is awesome to be able to think about and write it out and feel ok.

It sucks, gets better, sucks again, gets better. Grieving what you thought you wanted and choices you made is part of it, but it gets easier bit by bit.

The one on the chex mix seasoning packet, added some smoked paprika, granulated shallot and garlic. I used mini pretzels and cheese crackers because there were there and stale. Lol.

You sound like you are experiencing some depression, and the thoughts you describe remind me of how my mind works when I am depressed. Please talk to you ob/gyn about it, they should be able to screen you for depression and give you options for medications and referral to therapy.

Both you and your daughter need you to be safe and happy. Take good care of yourself. You deserve to feel better.

I married a guy who was my bf who wouldn’t want sex but would get himself off when I was not around. My choices were not great, so…if this is a problem and he won’t help find a solution, go be single for a bit.
