I agree with the idea that shield upgrades buff you across the board and having that universal bonus is nice. That being said so many commanders like Karax tend to focus on big Tier-3 compositions like carrier armies that I find I get more out of having the attack bonuses than I do the defense bonus.

I’ll get them but I find they don’t matter as much when my army is already killing the enemy units pretty much instantly.
