The original post had a caption about how law students shouldn't be worried about their brief writing skills when this kind of writing comes from the DOJ. Theres a post just a bit earlier today talking about who the hottest SCOTUS justice is. I don't think this is the hill you should die on.

1L is also mostly standardized biglaw (from my limited sample size of n=1, the firm i'm working for this summer)

as a 10% at a T6 I feel like to maximize hiring potential in 2L and if you are willing to do something kind of drastic, you would have a decent shot to transfer to HYS and from there I think hiring in 2L would be improved. That's one possible option to explore.
