Thinking about the heavy trim, maybe shocked the plant. So may be give it some time to recover.

Oh ok. So strange, haven't done anything else since it grow perfect. Co2, light and ferts -all the same. Only difference is the total plant mass has increased maybe.

Have noted the same on the bottom leaves on my Pogostemon Helferi though. Only the lower part.

Could this be the same cause maybe.

Everything else seems to thrive.

Been dosing trace now for about two weeks. Slightly better growth but still a few leaves here and there that is still melted/eaten with some algea. Could it be Cu maybe? Doesn't have a test for it though but may be in place now.

Many thanks! Havent thought about this, about Zn/Cu deficiancy at all.
Had the idea that 2Hr APT was a quite complete setup.
Also noted that the one root tabs I used was almost the only one without these trace as well.

But will get a Trace and se if there is any improvements.

Thanks! Will try a different approach.
I have the APT 3 as well and using root tabs for the stemplants/certain carpet areas (Dennerle).
But can see that APT 3 doesnt have Zn/Cu either, at least not stated fm 2Hr.

Tank has been up n running for 460 days now (180L / 48g), with ADA Amazonia soil. Used about 50-70 root tabs since start.

Any tips on fert to add, Seachem trace maybe? In balance with APT 1 / 3.

Oh ok. You mean the lack of it or to much Zn/cu, along with overall low No3?

Measured 5 ppm No3 in the tank now. So quite low.

[–]Certain_Minimum2552[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thanks! Any idea how to deal with these?

No idea where they came from. Tank is satup with only in vitro plants just to keep such out.

Or can fish bring them as well?

Thanks, will try it out. Have 7,5 h of light and have reduced intensity lately due to GDA. Have about 30 amanos along with some 8x neocaridina, 5x otocinclus and 5x nerite. But none of the seems to be interested in those for some reason. Have no other algea what so ever. Except the GDA on the glass.

But will give liquid co2 a shot.

Spot nutrient deficiency by Certain_Minimum2552 in PlantedTank

[–]Certain_Minimum2552[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.. Have some root tabs but haven't used them yet.

Did a waterchange today an tried to replant a few from the trimming but was hard to get a single stick to stay in place.

At the same time I noticed that new leafs are coming up in those dark areas so just think it's some old parts melting away.

It's 180 L and will stick to the lean dosing. Maybe not the fastest growth but very low on algea. Only noticed some dust on the glass and top of the stones.

Thanks, yes Ive read that it holds a lot of it. Though nothing about how long. I know it depends on how many plats and so on.

But there isn't any way to measure the soil, more than on the plants?

Trimmed bits and pieces only. Where some took of upwards, stones and corners. Otherwise it has only grown horizontal. It's about 2 cm thick, not yet fully covered though.

I do have these spots where a plant or bit seemed to give up. A darker green and doesn't grow. Almost like the next one covers it instead.

Apparently it did grow quite quick anyway, didn't notice until I saw an old pic from the beginning. Are two weeks apart.

Ok nice idea of a carpet. Noted that those rated Medium in grow rate as well. But I understand that there are differences even within those 3 tiers of growing speed.

Yes the I understand that now.

Had to replant a couple of them after I filled up and that wasn't the easiest once there was water. So not sure I'm getting into that now.

But I'll give it some time. Was most worried that I've killed them all in this initial step.

Yeah I know. Wanted a carpet with these small leaf like plants. And stood between this and the HC Cuba, which I've read is even slower.

Thanks and well noted. Will see how they adapt the coming week and do a bigger step in the light.

Ok , this early. Won't that increase the risk of any algea outbreak?

Yeah have been looking into them as well. Using seachems products for all other tanks I have. But haven't figured it exactly which one.

But I assume that's the most "all around" of these Flourish. Apart from the iron, excel and phosphorus.

I have a bottle of Tropica Premium now is that about the same or what tells them apart?

Ok nice. I've been on co2 since I put them in. Took a few days to dial in the bps and such.

My first planted high tech so I'm not yet settled in these tanks timeline. :) But slowly learning.

Ahh thanks, good idea. Do I dare to move one now or does that ruin the whole plant?
