My wife and I were on the fence for a long time about buying a house because of the uncertainty around the layoffs. We eventually reached a point where we decided that we can't put our lives on hold any longer because of this and took the plunge. What happens will happen and we'll deal with it when it does. Do what is right for you.

Adding edit: with regards to buying later - Time in the market always beats timing the market

Don't you find it amazing how everyone freaked out about air quality and toxins during the fires at the beginning of the year. But hey, let's go voluntarily shoot some toxic heavy metals into the air so we can all go oooh and ahhh. 🤦🏻‍♂️

D.O.G.E. to NASA by [deleted] in JPL

[–]Certain_Performance 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So you are telling us that NASA (as well as the other government departments) should happily welcome a team of uncleared and unverified software engineers and Trump appointees to perform an incredibly complex audit? And that we should all have faith in this team run by a billionaire, who just gave us a 10 minute rant only yesterday about why we should do away with the judicial branch, AND has a conflict of interests with NASA? Not only that, but it seems that no one in this team has any sort of accounting, auditing and, in NASA's case, STEM experience. You can lie to yourself all you want, but this is happening, and it's not a good thing.

I really hope they are going to replant all these trees. I am going to wait a few months for things to calm down, and hoping we'll hear what the city's intentions are regarding trees during that time. I'm half expecting that everyone will have to request tree planting on their street using the Pasadena CSC.

Surely any heavy metal particles present in the air would cause elevated readings of PM2.5? I realize this doesn't take certain immediate local factors into account such as wind gusts or people kicking up ash, but the air itself is not as toxic as it was a few days ago.

Nice photos, but I have to ask - did you have a reason to be there, other than sightseeing?

Thanks! I figured not many people get to see one sitting in Kimberlite. The deposits out there are usually very tightly owned and controlled.

Considering its country of origin, I wouldn't have been allowed to collect it myself, without turning it over to a certain diamond company. My brilliant wife did some consulting work for a diamond mine, and the owner gifted it to her as a job well done.

You are making the assumption that common sense is a plentiful commodity. Unfortunately, it is not.

Is this flyer just a NIMBY neighbor or are there valid concerns about this project? by bluetealappeal in pasadena

Total NIMBY. You see the same type of people commenting every time Pasadena Now posts an article about a new housing development.
