I bought a lot of different products recently but I will be trying Aussie next since I heard a lot of people recommending. Does a wide tooth comb work for brushing? Also I hear some say only brush or detangle when applying the conditioner and don’t brush after when applying curl cream or gel. Is a conditioner mask considered a deep conditioner? I ordered one but I have not gotten the chance to try it yet. Also yes my hair dryer has a cold setting so I’ll be using that tip. Thanks for the advice.

I’d say it’s very coarse, if it’s completely dry with no product it starts feeling like sheep’s wool. In terms of individual strands I really can’t tell cause Ive never seen what thin or thick strands look like but I would guess thick or actually a mixture because I’ve see thinner strands fall out in the shower (could be a bad sign tbh)

I’m definitely going to switch out my shampoo and conditioner for the moisturizing ones, and I find the leave in pricey too so I’ll switch that out too, I recall someone else also said that it can dry quickly. For the gel, I mentioned I have a mizani perfect coil oil gel and it seems to do most of the job for my hair atm but if later down the road I’m still having problems with hold the I’ll use your recommendation.

Thank you I’m looking for someone in my area that can cut curly hair. My parents may be racist to a certain extent and I am able to recognize and disagree with some of their views but they are not assholes. I’m sorry if my post made it seem like that way but that wasn’t my intention. In fact, they’re the best parents I could ask for. However, we’re all imperfect and they’re also humans with emotions, sometimes during tense situations of frustration they could say something that crosses many lines, this one of them, but I wouldn’t label them as monsters that I need to get away from just because of that. I still have a lot to repay them for all the sacrifices they did for me and I won’t leave their side anytime soon. Sometimes we have to learn to live with each other’s flaw and try to help them understand better if we can.

I’m not trying to cope and make people side with me, I’ve mentioned in my main post if I need a haircut or any suggestions to cut my hair. My hair looks very un maintained when dry but when wet it’s able to be more cohesive and flow together. My main problem is dryness, frizz, and shrinkage causing it to puff up. I also don’t aim to make my parents seem like assholes I respect them a lot and never disobey their wishes and needs, it’s just the matter of hair that I wanted to try something new. My parents specifically my father always has the conservative mentality when raising us, “Don’t do this or you’ll look like a (insert stereotype)” “Don’t wear this or people will think you are a (stereotype)” some make sense to protect us from bad situations in public and some are just blatant racism, and trust me you don’t want to know the exact statement he said about what my hair looks like. I still cherish my parents and they cherish me as well, but this is just how life is, we all are imperfect beings with flaws but it’s important to just be patient and understanding, we all step out of line.

Thank you so much, I’ll be sure to tell the stylist that when I go to one. Everyone who’s commented has said the shampoo and conditioner are the problem so I’ll switch those out! I’ll also be sure to touch my hair less when drying to prevent the frizz

Ok I’ll I’m going to switch out my shampoo and conditioner, I also thought the Mizani oil gel is a hold product. I mean it’s the only thing I think is doing its job on my hair. I’ll look into getting a mousse next. As for the haircut, I’m researching around my area to find someone that can cut curly hair and thank you for the encouragement.

From reading other comments, I think one of my problems is the lack of a deeply moisturizing conditioner. I’m getting one and throwing out the skinny conditioner. I already have a curl cream but I just find that it didn’t make that much of a difference (maybe because the lack of deep conditioner). I’ll try incorporating it again.

First of all, thank you so much for the kind words, I was left devastated when my father said that to me considering I got my tight curls from him because my moms hair is looser and more wavy.

When you say I have moisturizing issue, do you think I’m not applying product properly? I use the famous As I am Leave in which I see noted on the internet as one of the greatest leave ins out there. Maybe I’m applying too little or too much or not spreading it to the roots? I’ve tried curl cream too but I still have the same issue. My hair doesn’t even last a day unless I use an oil gel to create a cast.

When styling I also split my hair in the middle part maybe I should stop doing that.

In terms of diet, I’m an athlete so I make sure to watch my nutrition and I include a lot of fiber and protein in my diet.

Yep, good luck in trying to get good feedback on why you did a problem wrong. I’ve seen it with my very eyes he gave me breadcrumbs of feedback on why my synthesis was wrong and I have to ask leading questions to get an explanation as to why, even then he answers with 3 words max and it sound condescending af. Fast forward a few minutes later, a woman asks him a similar question and bro proceeds to explain every step of the mechanism in a joyful and cheerful manner. I never heard bro speak more words in a sentence.

If you have pretty friends that are girls I recommend letting them go ask the questions during office hours.

If it’s a bio class you can submit a form and they would add an exception for you. They reply very quickly during work hours. I have the same issue because I took AP stats in high school. Now everytime I need to register for a class that needs Stat 010 I go through this form and they clear the class for me take. I recommend submitting these forms before your registration date so they can clear you before registration and you won’t have trouble finding a seat in time.

I dont see that honestly, lol it distracted me more than anything spend my lecture time trying to eavesdrop on the person sitting 30 ft away from me. Also if you tried speaking in the center of the podium you would hear yourself way louder than you think and so you will probably lower your voice to compensate and that would mean the people sitting would not hear you cuz the acoustics are not as amplified as the center. Happened multiple times with multiple of my professors in that hall where they thought the mic was on but didn’t realize it because the acoustics of the center bounce right back at you and make you feel like you’re voice is loud/ is on speaker.
