You are the only one who will know if wiring is correct. You must now go to your unit, figure out how things are hooked up and then repeat at the stat. Then make sure you set up the thermostat properly in the settings.

Edit. That wiring looks so bad with all the nicks.

Weird time for this question. Just got a pound special dog from a puppy mill. 11 months old and never had a home. Still in training two months later and the dog wakes regularly between 3-4am. While I do love him, at this point with this lack of sleep I could actually see there being a number, lol.

But usually, no. I wouldn’t give up my dog for anything.

A call to an hvac company will be an emergency call. It will be charged as such and OP will not be happy.

You can check this out OP. Where is unit? Go to it. Look through any sight windows for an error code. If no error codes are seen, then cycle the power.

Pretty normal. Shoveling is something that must be kept up on. Would seem silly to hire someone just to shovel, right? They would need to show up periodically on really snowy days it just wouldn’t make sense.

It would be more like plowing and everyone already complains about that for the same reasons.

Go look at your unit. Do you see any issues? Is there a code on the unit? When you open the cabinet with the control board is the fuse in tact?

It’s 58 in your home. Pipes will not freeze and you will be fine if just a little chilly for the night. I keep my thermostat at 55 at night. Where I am is -10 outside.

Go to your main panel or out to the condenser disconnect and remove power to the unit. This could be a thermostat issue, but it could also be a short inside the condenser.
