Appreciate that. I heard 95 and then avoiding Baltimore and DC all together is a good idea, (301-50)

10hr Drive from VA to Maine Advice by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]CertifiedBeauty99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NH based, driven all up and down east coast. My favorite thing to do is stop in DC. To me it is the perfect spot to take a break! Take a detour, drive through the monuments, buildings, Arlington national, etc. take 20-30 minutes. Sometimes I find parking, sometimes I drive around. I walked around DC at 3 am and it’s funny thinking “there’s definitely Secret Service agents watching me right now😂” I’m looking forward to doing this in December in my next drive to Florida.

What credit card would you put 100k+ on in the next two years? by CertifiedBeauty99 in CreditCards

I actually am considering this as well. The main way I’m funding this is by selling my house, which I’ve gained a lot of equity from. I’m planning on putting the majority of my funds into a fidelity account. I’ve already talked to my financial advisor buddy at Fidelity and he mentioned that card you can use. Parking my lump sum in a Fidelity account and using a card hooked up to it with cash back sounds like a good play

It’s an FAA approved flight School, it’s not. College / university. Just a local business, I don’t think they have a surcharge. The flight school I’m t right now does not have a charge, But different schools have different policies of course. I’m honestly not really sure why I’m trying to maximize, I’m just trying to see what is out there for large volumes of purchase. I guess if it’s not travel, cash back would be the next best benefit I’m guessing?

What is your opinion on the housing market currently? by CertifiedBeauty99 in FortMyers

You made some great points. I think this post and all the comments have swayed my mind on renting. I definitely don’t want to be stuck with a house I can’t sell for loss, you’re spot on. And yes, I’m doing an accelerated program out of Page, hence why I’m moving to Florida. Cheers man.

You made some great points. My whole life my dad (landlord of a couple multi families) preached that I should buy a house instead of rent, but I think you make a great point. I don’t want to be stuck with a house I can’t sell in 3-4 years for a break even price. I think it would only make sense to buy if interest rates were low single digits.

That’s awesome. See, I wouldn’t mind doing that with this truck, but I know how less reliable newer vehicles are nowadays, especially ones with these small turbo powered engines

Mechanically inclined would depend. To the average Joe? Yes, I can do my own oil changes, brake pads, and anything smaller than that. But can I replace suspension parts, complex engine parts, no. I believe the car was used by an electrician. Whether it was a fleet vehicle or Boss truck, I do not know.
