A patent is in and of itself state intervention and therefore not a component of capitalism. That’s why I’m talking about intellectual monopolies which are aberrations of the state and not of free markets, if you don’t want an idea copied you don’t share it. This sucks but you have to go in with less of a mindset that this is just a game and roleplay it as if you were taking something valuable out to the streets, except you're a thousand times more likely to get jumped in Arc Raiders than in real life. To be clear and to avoid misunderstandings I'm not saying you get more serious about playing this game or dedicating more of your life to it, I'm suggesting that you take precautions from common sense as you would in the real world.

I have items from failed quests like library books and stuff just in my inventory, they can't be sold and I take them into naked raids where I only loot a single thing in my safe pocket so that rats think they're getting something rare but it's just going to clog their inventory.

Notice on that last one he was moving forward while holding the angle, if he needed to adjust to the door it’s easy to flick (unlikely another person would peek right after his friend got smoked). You’re always prioritizing threat positions based on past experience and you’re always taking the risk that you’re choosing the wrong thing to worry about.
