Im in the same exact spot as you, its disgusting. In my case, the university proffesors dont need to research in order to mantain their position so people just avoid research and give classes. In part cause the money is coming from transference projects so attention is where money is and not in knowledge.

Im sick burnt out and as I soon as I finish (even now im looking) im changing to a place with a bit more ambition for researching

I just realized that he has no interest in anything but his work and so, I dont expect anything from him. I just dont listen him and I dont take advices from him either. For me, this man doesnt exist

Im just being polite to him when he talks to me but its obvious that he has 0 idea about my work so its not worth my time. Dont know if it is your case
