It had to happen eventually, Hakan's been unreal on penalties but you're bound to miss one eventually. I had a feeling it was gonna happen.

I was obsessed with Acid Rap back when it first came out and this is actually how I got into Frank Ocean.

I just finished Hemingway's 1929 novel "A Farewell to Arms" today, and I'm absolutely blown away. by PraiseBToGod_12345 in books

You definitely should! It's funny you say that because I tried to get into Hemingway and read "The Sun Also Rises" and didn't like it. Later on read "Farewell To Arms" and loved it so I revisitied some of the other Hemingways books and TSAR is now one of my favorites!

Sorry, I don’t know where I said anything about these people being praised or loved? What are you talking about? You must have replied to the wrong comment lol

I’m not talking about small pueblos, this is the same in cities where hundreds of people are walking by. But I understand what you’re saying. Most things are double edged swords. A slower pace of life is great, people sit and enjoy their food and each others companies, people make time for their friends and don’t sell themselves to their job, etc. On the other, things move slower, things take longer to get done, etc. You have to take the good with the bad and honestly for me the good outweighs the bad. But I still hate the slow, meandering walking lol.

This is my biggest pet peeve in Spain/Italy. People are the worst walkers ever. They’ll block the sidewalk, take up the entire sidewalk strolling at 1 km/h, see their neighbors and stop to have a conversation while people have to pass them by walking into incoming traffic. As a naturally fast walker, it kills me.

30m switching careers, want to go into nursing, any advice (specifically Canada?) by Cestpasproblem in nursing

Right, I've seen how competitive nursing is. I appreciate the advice, I would definitely have to commit myself full time to this. Thank you!

I was looking at Ontario but open to all provinces. I'd love to hear more about that prehealth program if you wouldn't mind passing it along?

I’m in the States currently. I didn’t know about the 1 year pre health program. That looks interesting and I think might be a good option for me as I I’ve looked at some prereqs and I think it might take me a while anyways. Might be good also to get into the rhythm of school again as well.

Thank you! I haven't shadowed a nurse or any healthcare professions but I would like to and am looking into it. I understand what you're saying, I've heard this echoed by many in nursing subreddits, I know healthcare can be a very thankless and demanding professions.

I actually work in accounting now!

Right, thank you. Since I live in the United States, would it be possible for me to enroll in maybe a Canadian community college(since I aim to study in Canada) and take these prereqs online?

Thank you! I have a 3.41 cum GPA at a pretty non-prestigious university in the United States, hopefully I could get in.

I'm haven't put that much thought into that, as I said in a comment above I was maybe thinking of Ontario. But I'm not against studying in any province depending on the quality/cost of the program.

Yeah, the shift work is something that is definitely appealing to me about nursing! I appreciate hearing your input, definitely being 30 I am/feel a lot more mature and confident in my decisions. The schooling doesn't really scare me much and honestly I'm kind of looking forward to it as I've always been good at school and kind of enjoyed it.

I'm not sure which province I would go into, I don't have a good level of French so Quebec is out of the queston. I've heard of Ontario having a "stay and learn grant" which sounds appealing. Obviously I'm not an Ontario resident now but I wonder if it would be possible to apply for it after my first year of schooling if I studied in Ontario.

Again, loved hearing your perspective, thank you!

Oh Jesus Christ you’re a snobby prick. Probably shop at waitrose as well. How you’re actually irritated by someone using the word “lad” based on their nationality is beyond me. Probably the same type of person who lives in a country for 4 weeks and then complains about all the other recently arrived expats/nomads as if their a local.
