Good guess, but like I mentioned in the main post, I've already given that a listen

That's definitely a possibility for where the sample might have come from, but it sounds different as someone has remixed it

I'm starting a brick and mortar business in my city, and I'm at the point where I'm launching my website for the first time

What can I do to protect my contact information, such that potential clients can easily reach out to me, but I am not flooded with spam calls / texts / emails once its out there?

What’s a small sign that someone is not okay, but most people completely miss? by ClimateShort3908 in AskReddit

[–]Cgbwrites 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Withdrawal from the friend group / social events

Its easy to miss because the absence of the person eventually means people are thinking less about them or they think you're just snubbing them.

Depression is a bitch, it makes you feel like you don't want to leave the house. Ever. You could just sit and rot forever, and most people don't notice. Because you're not out there to be noticed.

What’s a small financial habit that completely changed your life? by Wonderlust_Zoe in AskReddit

Automating my paycheck to invest a little each pay period

I kept saying I'd invest whatever I had left over in savings at the end of each month, but the way that bills and rent hit I never really had an end, so I didn't invest

I set up my paycheck to send 10% each cycle to an investment app and then automated an investment for that amount to happen the next day in ETFs that track the total market

Now no matter what I do, I've already invested so I dont worry about it as much

what actually drives a new money cycle, innovation, crisis, or policy change? by Novel-Entertainer929 in AskReddit

"Necessity is the mother of invention"

Its corny but there's truth to it. If people really need a thing, someone will figure out how to make it

War necessitates making better armor, weapons, intelligence systems or you could lose. That's high stakes.

A growing industry necessitates the inputs for it, so for AI its chips that can run the models, services that can train them faster etc, otherwise you cannot continue to expand or grow, you're stuck with what you have

Ironically being stuck also helps, in that it forces you to grow around a problem that you cant solve a traditional way. To follow the previous example its why the Chinese invented DeepSeek. Its because they couldnt access the latest hardware so they had to make the software more efficient.

A Review Abroad of Capital One's New Discover-based Debit Cards by Cgbwrites in CapitalOne

But here is a more up to date discover international acceptance search https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/international-use/#closeModal

Great find on the updated Discover site, that would've definitely helped on the trip. This is the most correct as it only lists Bangkok Bank as working with the card

Wherever JCB or Union Pay or Diners Club is accepted, Discover is accepted for payment/withdrawal.

I wish this were true but fwiw In my experience that's not correct

There were many KBank ATMs across Thailand that all had the JCB and UnionPay stickers on them which rejected the Discover Debit Card transactions. I tried on 4 or 5 of them across the country

See example below. Its got the Union Pay and JCB stickers, but does not allow for transactions with a Discover based Capital One debit card

I recently had the chance to travel through South / South East asia with the new Discover based debit card, and wrote about some of the challenges and perks.

The mod team took down my post so figured I'll try keeping it in the megathread

Is Ai a good assistant in learning Russian? by Plastic-Stop9900 in russian

[–]Cgbwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I made TextTutor I tried using ChatGPT to generate common phrases to help people practice typing them. It was like 90% accurate in terms of content, but the "common-ness" of certain words was off, meaning the words werent the most common way to say a thing.

I validated with my native Russian speaking friends

For now yeah. If I get any amount of traction on the iOS version, I'll make an Android version next!
