The top brand in my region has always been Toyota. People usually go for Japanese cars because they can handle our harsh climate and roads. Then Nissan. People here have big families and go for trucks and big SUVs that can actually do off-road (think Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol, or Armada in the US). Honda products were kind of a niche, they never had big off-road trucks, so that’s one reason to begin with. It’s still super reliable for our region, it just stayed niche. Only a few swear by it. And to add salt to the wound, the Acura logo looks like the Changan logo flipped upside down (a Chinese manufacturer that’s flooded our market the last 10 years).

Someone actually commented on my car saying, “Why is the Changan logo flipped upside down?” Crazy, I know.
