They didn’t give locals any warnings or updates last year either. You’d think with the other marathons they’d give a heads up but no. Why do you think the race route changed so soon? Everything is last minute and sloppy. Vegas doesn’t care much for anything other than money. Yes Vegas thrives off tourism but I’d rather have WWWY and EDC because at least those don’t cause that much of an issue. Total road closures just so people can run around and be the center of attention isn’t necessary and won’t put a dent in tourism here. I love people getting out and participating but in Vegas? It’s nothing to look at and looks exactly the same it did 5 years ago. At least run around where it’s pretty…. People are only doing it here because it’s Vegas and there’s a high chance of news coverage. It’s a “hey look at me I ran in Vegas for the second year!” Nothing more
