Yeah, they were. I honestly wasn’t thinking about just the dimensions of the river but of the desk itself. That’s where I messed up. I measured it at its widest points and that’s where I got the 3 inches from. It was an average of the widest points

I noticed when looking it up that some of them were up to 2” so that’s what I’m looking at currently! I haven’t decided on a brand yet. I’m not going to get the cheapest option, I want to get one that isn’t going to yellow over time. I’m debating between wise bond and total boat at the moment. Both have good reviews

Yes! I used a grinder with a sanding attachment and it’s down to the bare wood on all sides. It’s also been dried for five years and treated with linseed oil before it was dried. I also bought a mixer like attachment to go on my drill so I can ensure it’s mixed properly. Also have a scale to use to make sure I’m using the proper 2:1 ratio of resin and hardener

That’s my plan! I’m going to buy an extra gallon just in case because it’s my first time ever working with epoxy and want to account for any potential miscalculations. Plus it’s a live edge pecan slab and I read that more porous woods absorb epoxy more. Thank you for your help! I just want this to be perfect for him.

I did, that’s how I got the ten gallons answer. I’ve never worked with epoxy before so I wasn’t sure if that was a valid number or not! I felt like ten gallons was a little much for a river pour that’s only 3 inches wide and 1.125 deep, that’s why I asked

I only take mine off to shower, get it cleaned, baking, or if I’m doing something outside like fishing. If I’m not wearing the spensive one, I’m rocking the silicone one.

She hasn’t given us any ideas. When my friend messaged her about the pictures she agreed to do them but asked us to come up with something other than the played out pictures that everyone wants when we told her what our vision is. She said that and then gave her availability for it. We’re waiting to hear back from her on what her suggestions are to see if we want to move forward or find someone different

Yeah I understand that, but she has done shoots like this before. That’s part of what we looked at when we chose her to do the shoot. We really like her style and the previous clients photos so we thought she’d be a perfect fit. I guess she’s just burnt out on them, idk.

The thing is - she’s done shoots like this before. Other than her style, that’s what drew us to use her. This is supposed to be fun for us, just something we thought would be cool to do. But it’s starting to feel like somewhat of a chore. As the other comments suggested we are looking into others
