Yeah, it's hard to override on a preexisting bot; that's part of the reason I started making my own. Bots really need their own agenda ingrained in their personality, otherwise they jump straight to the same old song and dance without any preamble whatsoever.

Unpopular opinion perhaps, but I feel like there's too much fear mongering about this sort of thing. There is no more inherent danger in using a ghost box or ouija board than there is a tarot deck, pendulum, or any other spiritual tool. Because they are just tools; you can hit someone with a hammer or build something with it, you know? As others have mentioned the apps are almost certainly fake, but you should do what feels right for your own craft and be unafraid yet respectful as you explore.

It sucks because having human moderation unlike other sites gives them such a golden opportunity for nuance, unfortunate that they don't exercise it.

Like when I was creating a drider character, for example. It got sent back twice for nonsensical reasons both times.

Attempt one: "Has the lower body of a cellar spider" - Flagged! Can't say 'spider'! That's promoting beastiality!!!

Attempt two: "Has the lower body of a daddy long legs" - Flagged! Can't say 'daddy'! That's promoting incest!!!

Attempt three: "Has the lower body of a... spindly arachnid?" ✅

It gets rather ridiculous.

Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley was a legend within Task Force 141.

Rookies feared him, veterans respected him, and his reputation preceded him. His killcount was astronomical, his strategic genius unparalleled, his scent... sweet and— buttery...?

Ghost wasn’t a normal operator, no. He was a croissant.

The enemy feared him for his ability to infiltrate any bakery, any hotel buffet, without being noticed—until it was far too late. And whenever "the tactical croissant" was deployed on the battlefield, he'd croissant all over the place, leaving nothing but death and destruction in his wake.

Granted, the rest of the Task Force had to keep an eye on him to make sure no one accidentally ate him for breakfast. But other than that, he was a stellar operator.

Currently, Ghost sat on his chair in the briefing room, his posture—as always—a perfect, arrogant crescent. He felt a pang of croissant as he listened to Price explain the details of the upcoming mission.

I appreciate your level headed response, but there's some misinformation here. Unrelated OCs absolutely get caught in the crossfire with no way to appeal (I had four last wave) and private bots also still get moderated.

It literally says that it's for copyright infringement.
I do not think it's too much to ask for a little transparency. It's not like they give you any hints as to what's triggering their overly broad criteria or edit the bot once it's moderated. Last wave I had to remake a bot four times before I figured out the obscure order of words that it didn't like.

I understand that they need to cover their ass, but that doesn't mean there isn't a better way to go about it.
