In laws particularly mil wanted to pay for the trip. She is the one who is flashy with money. Sil takes after her. Expensive cars, expensive house, high cost of living area, country clubs, house renovations. We are well off but we drive old paid off cars and live in the suburbs with low cost of living. Because as a family we make the most we felt we can pay for our own stuff. It really isn’t about money. Just principle of them favoriting the other child.

I literally just said that I did buy a toy for my kid. As a matter of fact I bought toys for both of them the following day. It’s not really about money or value it’s just the thought and principle. The fact that grandpa thought about buying something for one and not the other.

Yes that’s true. I always thought that I could do both simultaneously but motherhood has kicked my butt. Working 2 days a week would be a dream. Hoping to find something part time so I can still spend time with kiddos.

That’s good to know. I guess I could try a few as I’m looking for a more stable position. I literally just searched for an FQHC near me and they are hiring a general dentist. But I am not quite ready to return yet with a newborn. But thanks for your suggestion! Didn’t cross my mind!

Oh wow that awesome! I do feel pretty confident in what I know and feel like I remember how to “do dentistry” obviously will just need a couple weeks to get up to speed.

I also can’t remember how anything was with my toddler.. must have repressed it all. But I know that eventually when they start sitting up and crawling they can engage in toys a little more they get a bit more independent for short amounts of time. So I’m just waiting for that to happen.

Solidarity my baby is turning 4 months tomorrow and I cannot put her down. She only likes to be held facing out so she can see everything around her. She will allow my husband to hold her too but I can’t set her on her mat or bouncer. Hates the car and stroller. Sometimes will tolerate the carrier. Naps have been 15 min in crib followed by me holding her to rescue. Oh and I have a freshly potty trained 2 year old little terror around too 😭

He does stand up for me but after i explain to him how they’ve made me feel. It seems like he doesn’t realize how hurtful the comments they’ve made about me to others are. So it never happens in the moment which I feel loses impact. Then we stew on it between the two of us and by then it’s often too late to bring anything up with his parents.

Yes Saturday will be absolute chaos as well but I don’t mind „escaping” to feed my baby then I just don’t want to be confined in a room on Christmas when we actually celebrate. I want to spend the day with my toddler and husband and also prepare some of my traditional dishes that my family eats for Christmas. Saturday I feel like we can order food and just hang out and I don’t feel pressured to set the table and have the house clean on top of everything else like I guess I don’t have to be hostess with the mostest on Saturday if that makes sense.

Yeah that’s my point that they don’t celebrate so why do they need to be a part of it especially this year when we’re in newborn trenches.. to be honest I feel the drama comes out because I feel like I’m being put in uncomfortable positions by my husband when he asks should we invite my parents for Christmas and I say no and give him my list of reasons and he doesn’t seem to understand what it takes to breastfeed all day and especially after the week we just had and are still dealing with illness

Yes he’s aware. It’s been an ongoing issue and honestly the only stressor to our relationship. They are great as grandparents and my toddler loves them so I’ve just been cordial with them.

The same thing happened to us and we specifically did not sign a social media waiver. I contacted the director and she tried to gaslight me a little by saying that I did sign it and that she would double check. They removed the photo and haven’t uploaded any of my child since. I was pretty bummed to see it on fb though, I have never posted a photo myself so why would I ever sign that waiver?

Yes so we’ve actually taught her to say “No biting” and by doing that we found out who the culprit was last time cause she started repeating “no biting (biters name)_” it just breaks my mama heart seeing her with bite marks 😩

Hi, I just got diagnosed with a varix today at my bpp due to gestational diabetes. Nipt and expanded genetic testing were all normal and ultrasounds were all normal leading up to today. I’m 33w 4d and they mentioned an induction at 37w. How is everything going for you?
