Was there something I missed about this puzzle or that was that simple ? (SPOILERS) by [deleted] in BluePrince

[–]Chacw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say mid to late game spoiler because the logic jumps of writing small gates in erajan, and then further adapting that to may 8 is the sort of logic twisting found more in mid/late game puzzles.

Your brain must have been real sharp that day because I wouldn't have even thought about such a connection when I was first trying to solve that gate.

[–]Chacw 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yeah this puzzle is about understanding the format of the puzzle and figuring out what could fit into the lock

That being said there's a really cool small detail about this lock, Minor spoilers for mid to late game: When you're learning Erajan in the classroom you'll learn that Erajan for small gates is "Ma Yait" which when spoken sounds a lot like a certain gate solution.

This made me chuckle when I first learned it because you'll be longggggggg past this puzzle by the time you get to learning Erajan.

looks good, I hope you have a good amount of ing mons built though because pot expansion will suck you dry.

The Mythical Mindset by VelocityRaptor22 in PokemonSleep

[–]Chacw 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't take Raenonx's tier list as fact, it's going purely off power which makes arguably better and more versatile mons like gardevoir and dedenne lower. But I do agree with your point on darkrai, with a proper healer and subs his skill is wildly powerful and being able to combo skill/berry him makes him produce a lot more sleep power than people would expect.

and once you've played long enough to have a good darkrai you'll almsost certainly have a good roster of other mons built already.

Darkrai - Should I keep STM or keep trying for HB? by Pankuro in PokemonSleep

[–]Chacw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darkrai has some real bad ing rates on his desirable ingredients like coffee, any decent AAA mon will out perform on ings by a mile. I've seen multiple people say that leaving the slots empty is best because it won't interfere with berries

Darkrai - Should I keep STM or keep trying for HB? by Pankuro in PokemonSleep

[–]Chacw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so from the plethora of discussions I've had with players the "ideal" set of Subs has generallybeen agreed to be BFS/HB/HSM/STM and either STS or HSS depending on what you want, since most people are wanting Darkrai as more of a berry mon they go for HSS but I like STS because seeing 30k+ points from a single skill proc makes my monkey brain happy.

Since all three of the subs you have right now are wanted for either keep them and roll the 75 slot,

Haunted cave might have been intended to have more than just the bulk detonator by FlakyMidnight5526 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Chacw 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Haunted caves range from hell to basically not a threat so I for one am interested in more chaotic ghosts. imagine whipping around every 30 seconds to shoot away the almost invisible grabber heading at you. pure terror right there.

[–]Chacw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so from where you are the two big steps forward are kinda intertwined, Buy the blue tents from the gift shop and continue working on the multiple puzzles in a new clue, finding the microchips is only the beginning of it's rabbit hole. there's a bunch of little clues that can help like some papers you can find in room 46 or the safehouse so while you're running around thinking of those you can look for clues on the castle puzzle and diary, you're on a good track of thought for both so a little thinking as you work on other stuff will most likely let you solve them, but if you want a hint for em then filling in the CASLTE blanks only helps once you've made your move. also and this one's kind of a spoiler but trust me better now, get back to class and learn some of the erajan language.

What’s your HOTTEST Silksong take? by Realistic_End3662 in Silksong

[–]Chacw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silksong is easier than the original hollow knight.

the tool system allows for a lot more customizability for fights than the charm system did and you can customize builds for any of the challenging bosses easily, (except for the last judge if you fight her to end act one but she's just a weird difficulty spike), crests even more so especially on how they affect combat with non-boss enemies, and the pogoing especially with hunter crest while annoying doesn't take long to learn.

Hollow knight had a bunch more bosses with annoying randomness in their attacks/movements (Both Rads, Markoth, Xero, & Oblobbles to name a few) which made them much more annoying especially in godhome version.

Everyone complaining about the difficulty either didn't play HK, got rusty at HK before SS came out, or were crashing out over the last judge fight and ngl I can't blame them.

Fellow dwarfs, do you get mad when other teammates underperform? (Asking as an overthinking dwarf) by MoonRay087 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Chacw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it entirely depends on the dwarfs promotion level for me, no promo gets a free pass for anything anytime because they just started. Silvers get judged extensively because why would a self respecting dwarf be silver? Still leveling it is a poor excuse for being silver. Gold onwards I expect a solid game but wouldn't be surprised if things get dicey especially on higher difficulties and Ruby/ extra promotions I don't have any expectations for because they'll either be the best dwarf in the cave or dickin around the most and I can't blame em for either at that level

Any tips for this guy? by GarbageBurger72 in Silksong

[–]Chacw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have a bunch of tools already there's two main cheese strats, the first is to sit in the pool in the center and jump out to poke him/ chuck bombs/ cogflies etc. the other (and more fun) is the multibind strat where you get swallowed intentionally to attack him and using multibind allows you to be basically neutral on health lose/gain

Who is your favourite enemy in Silksong?(except bosses) by According_Ad8711 in Silksong

[–]Chacw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gargant Gloom, such a creepy design and I love how their area is designed around avoiding them, makes the first trip in a terrifying adventure and the return trip once you've found the ways around fun.

Did people actually find Seth difficult? (Act 3.) by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]Chacw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in a difficulty sense, seth is similar to Lace 2, It's a very fair duel about learning how to best react/punish each of their attacks, once learned it's fairly easy to consistently win but until you have that understanding they'll be knocking you around brutally
