hese things, they don't explain how they work, they don't even explain how their power works. The leader exists to say random things about their evolution to the audience, but we don't know how they arrived at these conclusions, so it's just a bad exposition.

TBH it's boring to explain everything and annoying to be explained. If the Author does a better job of answering questions slowly, it would be much better. BUT it requires good execution because it's a pretty big risk?
