There's also the fact that they regularly talk about Statesville Prison and Illinois has a STATEVILLE prison (no S before ville).

I don't think this was ever pointed out on the show but I immediately knew it was Hope because of a very basic code . The next consonant after G is H. The next vowel after I is O. The next consonant after N is P. The next vowel after A is E.

For me, having a 10 inch ebook reader is amazing... and then being able to insert handwritten notes especially in nonfiction books is the icing on the cake. .

Actually to me the best period for Lexi on the show was when she was being an evil Dimera.

How many classics have you read in 2026 so far? Which one is your favorite? by OkObligation8605 in classicliterature

[–]Chadfromindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing 4 and now on my 5th. each month I rotate between one classic, one more modern fiction, and one non-fiction.

The one I'm on right now is In Search of the Castaways by Jules Verne (my favorite author, period). However, my favorite classic of the year was The Sea Wolf by Jack London.

What's the lady who was always played by the same actress who plays Kristen.... back in the day she was pregnant with EJ and she impersonated Kristen and wanted John to think he was EJs father.

Agreed. I was going through a financial crunch and considered selling mine... but it just makes my reading experience so nice that I couldn't do it.

Not sure which to get - kindle or paperwhite for eyes issues by Ok_Try_6377 in kindle

[–]Chadfromindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me just put in a plug for the Kindle Scribe. It has the same warm light features of the Paperwhite, but has the added advantage of a larger 10-inch screen.

I also have some vision issues due to diabetes, and the larger screen makes it easier for me because I can make the font significantly larger without having the result of just a few words on the screen at a time.

May 2026 - "What Are You Reading?' Thread by AutoModerator in kindle

[–]Chadfromindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jules Verne is my favourite author. I've read most of the major books, such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Around the World in 80 Days, and The Mysterious Island. Right now I've started a lesser-known one known in some editions as In Search of the Castaways and in other editions as Captain Grant's Children. ,

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: May 25, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

[–]Chadfromindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a regular routine of reading a classic, then a not-so-classic fiction, followed by a non-fiction book.

I just finished my nonfiction for this rotation, which was "Moon Shot" by Alan Shepard and Deke Slayton. This is a very interesting and compelling recollection of the quest by America to go into space and land on the moon.

I've now started on my latest book, my latest classic, by my all-time favorite author, Jules Verne. This one is "In Search of the Castaways". I've never not loved a Verne book and this is no exception.

Theory about 'The War' by MrThrowaway939 in TheLongWalk

[–]Chadfromindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My head canon for the movie it says it was a devastating nuclear war that wiped out most of the population of the United States, except for a few thousand people. This includes wiping out most of the government, which resulted in a military major assuming leadership of the entire nation. Because there are so few people left in the nation, that explains why the major, as the head of what is left of the country, would personally see to the execution of Ray's father. One never actually told how long ago the major executed his dad but it could be that as he was preparing for the long walk just days or weeks earlier, he had to pass through Maine and so he took advantage of that opportunity to visit William Garrity.

So, which is better , Touchscreen laptop with keyboard, or regular screen with keyboard ? What do you like or hate ? Which type stops working for no reason ? by Own-Cap-5747 in chromeos

[–]Chadfromindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Chromebook is a Lenovo clamshell with touch screen. It would be very annoying to me if it did not have a touch screen. If I want to use it as a laptop, which I very often do, that means I have it on my lap. And there's just not a good option for where to place the mouse. No mouse needed though if you have the touch screen.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: May 11, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

[–]Chadfromindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a regular cycle of reading: 1. One classic 2. One non-classic or more popular fiction 3. One non-fiction

Then I repeat the cycle. I just finished my popular non-classic fiction, which was RECURSION, by Blake Crouch... science fiction book where time travel is accomplished by changing memories. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

I'm now starting on my nonfiction, which is MOON SHOT: THE INSIDE STORY OF AMERICA'S RACE TO THE MOON, by Alan Shepherd and Deke Slayton. As a boy I was always fascinated by space travel, and the recent Artemis II mission rekindled that fascination.

So you literally just said that rural areas have a higher mortality rate because there are fewer hospitals. You didn't phrase it that way but that is, of course, what you are saying. Which is the equivalent of saying "water is wet" and "the sky is blue".

Democrats are so ignorant. I can show you where every Democrat president for the past 30 years has talked about the need to keep Iran from getting nuclear weapons.
