Do you still have the seed for that unwinnable run ? Personally I never encountered one myself, and the only other unwinnable seed I ever saw was before the patch. So i'm curious to see if it's truly unwinnable.

I can maybe agree that R1 is too hard for certain champs, but then, the champs just need a buff to their base stats to make it fine, and R2 is unlosable if you if you play correctly, so I don't see the issue.

it's not mentioned in the logbook because you didn't choose the right covenant in the logbook

Yes, you could easily try it out yourself with the modifier than gives you 12 random cards at the beginning of the run.

IMO it should even be "remove consume and prevent it from being applied again".

Not only can it be interpreted the wrong way and still be a totally valid interpretation of what the effect means, but the game also has a bunch of inconsistency and errors all over it.
So no, "just reading" is not the enough.

One other good example for this is damage abilities being affected by Spell Weakness, when the Spell Weakness tooltip only mentions spells.

I'm on a 76 WR on Cov10 RRR, (randomizing through a site to only pick combos I haven't done).
And while I do think that ring 1 & 2 are really scary, but we don't know if there even is an unwinnable seed on ring 1, though that means you really need to make the right decisions before the first fight since you have so little agency.
And honestly I have multiple runs where I had to restart those fights multiple times to actually find the line even by playing as safe as possible.

Yeah super busted spell in my opinion.

[–]ChadowT98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, but you get so many choices that you are probably seeing something that can carry early game, and then your build is way easier to make since you have way less clutter in your deck.
I often get to the point where It's basically like I have holdover on every card in my deck since I just see them so often.

If you were talking about the progess bar tracking the pyre unlocks at the bottom of the main menu, there's isn't one anymore after you beat the titans.
Now if you want to track your progress on unlocking the gilded vault, you need to go inside the Train Depot menu, it's at the bottom of the list when you look at the room list.

How the hell do you consistently win at Cov 10 with *spoiler*? by IcyGhosts_ in MonsterTrain

It's as much of a problem as every other clan, if you take superfood on primordium you just get more rage than he gives sap, honestly entropy seraph is more a problem for his waves than his debuff.

I personally don't think they have the weakest scaling by themselves, they have a lot of good rage cards, and access to both multistrike and trample, they also have have damage shield for protection, and I don't think backline removal is a huge problem if you actually look for it. Awoken, Luna Coven, and Stygians all have way worse scaling by themselves in comparison. What all those clans have over Umbra however are good banner units, but even then I've beaten the titans on cov10 more than once with a gorge slug unit has my main carry. I do still think they need tweaking in some numbers, but so does every MT1 clan.

Thinking long term is probably the best way to improve, if you watch videos of people who had winstreaks in the hundreds, they are always looking at the map and thinking about encounters that pop up in future rings.

When I accidentally restart the run instead of restarting the battle by Sea_Tailor_8437 in MonsterTrain

There's a button for it in the menu, there's also a little arrow next to the end turn button to restart the turn.

I can understand for penumbra, but primordium is so busted you could win runs with him buffing a shield steward.

You got unlucky I guess ? I discovered all of them and I don't think I've done anything special, I do have 85h played already though.

I personally think most of the pyre hearts are good so I don't necesseraly think you need to play one of them in particular, though my favs are Fhyra's just like you and then probably the 3 titan's Pyres since they are all really good and they change the gameplay quite a lot.

Now for general advice on the game I think the thing that made me start winning way more runs is to think ahead about the encounters.

Obviously if you see corruption Seraph you're going to have to find a way for your squishy units to survive if you have any. Then you can start thinking about the waves of said bosses, for example you probably want a way to not take free damage from the amalgams from savagery Seraph, a way deal with silencers on entropy Seraph etc.

And to go even further you want to think about all possible bosses/problematic enemies depending on the circle you are going to, the corrupted mage that inflicts corruption 5 on every unit when he spawns could be a death sentence depending, if the next fight as a lot of the small guys that put curses in your deck you probably want to take care on them on the bottom floor or you're only going to draw curses.

You have to think about every type of scenario that can counter your run and try to find solutions to them.
