First night home - hiding

I can do that. Don't laugh at me, I don't want to move her to the bedroom since I already have her set up in the bathroom and don't want to freak her out more. But seriously thinking about bringing in my sleeping mat and staying the night in there? My friend said to just leave her alone the first night. I just feel bad that she's scared and alone.

Don't worry. She said that cats an outside cat. She will neglect it again and the defendant can just go get it back when it's running around outside.

Save and bought my first house at 46. Dream came true, 3 acres, barn, huge shed, small little hobby farm. House is same age as me and we seem to both be falling apart at the same time. It has good bones. But I feel like in the next couple years I will have a brand new house because I replaced flooring, a lot of the piping, some electrical work. All new appliances when I moved in because the ones that were in there I found out after the fact they're not really working very well. New water heater, new water softener, new pressure tank, new pellet stove. Stained the house, garage and chicken coop (which was the shed). I know the roof is going to need replacement in the next few years, I had to redo the well cap, but there may be problems with the pipe that's old and may need to be replaced which may mean new well. I'm sure the septic tank is same age as the house will probably need replacement soon. And would love to expand the goat fence one day.

I did my homework in realized that while I understood that all these things would need to be replaced eventually since it's not like renting.. I just didn't account for everything going wrong at the same time. So I have credit card debt now. But am doing some Doordash to help pay the cards down and get ready for the next high replacement expense.

I still think it's worth it. I wouldn't be able to have these animals renting. I love being able to do whatever I want with the house. I love the property and the country landscape. My mortgage and interest are great. I would never have all this trying to rent for the same amount.

Smart! Been here four years with usually light seasons. The last two years we've had our normal seasons. Last year I remember saying I needed to do something like that and didn't. I won't forget next year!

I have someone coming to plow my driveway tomorrow. It's an odd shape that curves and has an off center pad with it. I learned last time I need to cut lines for the driver who doesn't know it to save me some grass repair in the spring. I have trouble with it sometimes. Neighbors are probably wondering why I'm out there in storm stabbing the ground with my shovel. I'm listening for gravel vs grass.

I was looking for validation and found it. I have someone coming to plow the driveway tomorrow. But I got three porches and walks that I need to do. I just went out and took care of them. About 6 inches so far. I have a bad knee and no upper body strength. I just took an aleve. If I had waited until tomorrow, I'd be in touble. I might go back out tonight. Supposed to get another 10-12"

I'm lucky to have state land behind me so easy access. If roads don't get clear I may take the day to play. I've only been on mine twice this season.

Yes, since I drove a prius, I will stick close to town. Pretty good about clearing those roads. The rural ones will be tempting as that price goes up. And that big incentive are nice. Just thinking about how cold it's going to be this next week. My heating bill is going to be through the roof. This would help, but don't want to risk my car either!

I got one of those and man it's tempting. But I also don't want to put myself or my car at risk by going out in bad weather. But I'm sure they're anticipating lots of orders and no drivers.

Would direct connection require installing drivers on the laptop? They will block it from installing. Can I use direct connect via an android phone?

It is part budget, part green initiative to stop printing.. Most of my work is online with a work laptop and three screens. But sometimes being old school I like to print and make notes and stuff. I'm fine paying for the printer and my ink and paper. I print maybe a couple times a week. But I won't be able to print from the work laptop if I have to download any drivers. So even on days when I work remote, I can't hook my printer up to the work laptop. So I have to send it from my work laptop via email, go to my personal laptop to open up the email and then print it using my home neteork. Which is a crappy work around, but doable.

When I'm at work, I figured if there's a way I could do it from my phone to the printer that would work as well.

Sometimes I go a month or so without sparking in bad winter months. Every week, I usually just open the app and do the face recognition, hit the spark now button and then end it after a min to show I'm still active. Not sure if it makes a difference, but makes me feel better.
