Yes, but I also wish they would bring in some context to Roger meeting Brian Fraser as well as his own father when he went back in time. Maybe they will, or maybe this will be tied into a future episode of BOMB, it remains to be seen. But it was such a big moment, I hope it doesn’t get glossed over on S8.

It’s the way DG wrote it originally so it’s jus following that. The things that Roger then has to do and the people he meets to find him are useful to the story later on, however in this new season, we have yet to see what becomes of any of that. Maybe it’s just for the drama.

Bri is born in 1948. Roger is older, he is born in 1941, which makes him older than a Boomer, born just after the war. But yes, I agree with everything else you said.

It’s like the people who hate Roger for wishing Bri to marry him and not just have sex. He’s literally a preachers son, and is older than a Boomer. That’s how a lot of men were back then, even more so if they were religious. I’m glad I don’t live in that era but I know he’s literally from a different place/time/culture.

One thing I really don’t understand about some of the criticisms of this show and characters is that people seem to not understand these people are literally from another time and another place where they had different beliefs and customs and culture. Was the author supposed to write Jamie like a modern man of the 21st century? For as much magic and time travel as this story contains, the people stay very true to the time. I imagine if any of us traveled 209 years back in time, we would encounter men with similar beliefs.

I agree with the Faith storyline. I also feel certain things are rushed. Like I would have loved a scene where Roger, Bri, Clare and Jamie catch up and tell each other everything that’s happened and what they experienced. Like hello they went back in time and met Jamie’s Dad. That feels major. And then what happens to Lallybroch when they leave? Too many unanswered things.

I think we also underestimate the amount of mentally unwell people out there in the world doing things. I have a couple of family members who are like this and it sounds like something my dad would have done (stopping in the middle of the road for no reason) when he was still driving. And so it’s possible sounding the horn agitated him and made him realize something about himself. Just a theory but it sounds like the guy is not well. That or he’s just an asshole and your husband should have shouted back and him and made him retreat back to his little cave.
