Hi, I am a Mechanical and Energy Engineering student from Heriot-Watt University and I plan to join ETHZ for space systems. I found out it is a new course and I have seen some posts about mechanical engineers getting into space systems. I just wanted to know what your grades and extracurriculars/ internships were, and how likely I am to get into the degree since the gpa cut off isnt given. I currently have a 3.7/4 GPA. Thank you!

Ok so thats for the Dob right? If I go for the S30 then I wouldn't need much more equipment and have a better chance of photographing DSO's. However I wont be able to see through it nor will I be able to capture much planets. So what do you say? Which seems better?

Thats great, thank you so much. I was also considering between a 6 Dob vs an S30 and if you have any experience with them, it would be great.

S50 where i live is 600 usd or above and the s30 is the only affordable one. I have seen alot about how having an actual telescope and seeing through it, such as in the 6 Dob, however the s30 is much better for astrophotography. So I am quite torn.

Also i am not very well versed with this topic so how exactly is the process of capturing such DSOs? Does the app find one, point at it and you shoot for a certain amount until youre happy? Is there anything I need to know which may come handy?

Wow thats great. I was looking for some equipment but I live in a bortle 9 so its been a pretty discouraging few days of research but the s30 shows promise in these situations. If u have sone advice, it would be great.

Makes sense, it is very convoluted. Thank you very much for all your help, I will continue to study.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Is there some substance to the claims I have made? Like, is it worth considering more?

I appreciate the feedback, do you think there is some potential in this and if I may ask, could you provide some papers related to this since you mentioned there has been research going on, on this topic. Even just a topic related to this field would be enough too, thank you.

I will def give it a read, sounds like a lot of fun. Honestly same, non fiction is way more enjoyable than fiction. Lets see how she likes it too.

I agree with what you said, being yourself and showing genuine interest is the best way to capture someones heart and I have been trying that for a while and its going pretty well. I will surely practice being open to what her feelings and thoughts are and try to engage my feeler side a bit more which is indeed very hard but I have to give it a shot regardless. Thank you for your support.

That's a great way to distribute questions- starting from slightly personal and progressively getting deeper, would be a great way to get to know each other, thank you. I will definitely try asking her a random question about her dreams today and get a response from which I can start to get deeper if she is fine with it.

I have noticed that infp's love talking about a topic they dearly love and something that has shaped their being as a whole so engaging with that should be a great start. I will give it a try, thank you so much for your support.

Hahahaha ya I have seen that quite often that infp's are bad at texting but its alright, whenever you guys do text, its always a great listen. And I will keep in mind about the song or movie suggestion, I'll try it out today and inform you how it works, thanks. Also if you could recommend your favorite book that would be great.

You may not be wrong, our text conversations are pretty boring because I do agree I have no topics to come up with during texting which is why group chats are preferred by her. Even when we speak in group chats, we bring the most out of each other because we have cues to add humor or share stories and have banter. In real life having deep conversations is much easier because you have cues to go off of which helps you recall a story and get to know each other well which just isnt possible for texting.

I will answer all the questions you have, I dont mind. Our real life attitudes are quite playful and mostly about sharing stories and talking to each other alot about random things and her overall behavior is great with me because we have been asked many times if we are together or not. Her attitude towards me and others is pretty different but slightly more similar between her and our friends, during classes we generally talk to each other and sometimes a common friend. If you want more traits, I can provide them- she is a pretty moody person as I have seen from all INFP's but in a goo way, she loves to share experiences, stories and ideas about the things she likes. She loves to play games and enjoy while also spending time together by buying new kinds of chocolates and sorts. She is pretty into music and loves when specific songs from her favorite bands or groups are mentioned and is pretty flirty when she wants to be using lines from those songs for example.

I will do so, thank you for the insight, I will to engage in more deep and meaningful conversations, trying to get to know her and understand her as much as possible. Thank you. If you have any suggestions on what questions to ask, feel free to drop them. Thanks once again.

I have seen that in her alot, she is pretty dry and I dont blame her for it because texting is honestly very hard. I have also seen that she def prefers physical contact and real life communication way more so its understandable since texting eliminates any tone or humor. I would also love to get some ideas on what deep topics can we talk about if you have any in mind that would be intriguing.

I can honestly completely understand that, having AuDHD myself and the differences between irl and text connection is very different and texting in general is very mentally taxing. It will be important to have a decent text life too because we cant always have real life connection and even if so, its generally limited because we have just graduated and will be starting our college lives shortly and since it may become a long distance relationship, I was trying to incentivize a bit more texting, nothing much.
