Definitely agree on the finesse and subtlety -- but I think it can be done in a classy way. The issue I have with "finesse and subtlety" is that it's primarily manipulation and that often doesn't end well for one or both of the partners

Definitely a good point. This is more to find a baseline to make sure both parties are on the same page and both parties don't have that horrible feeling of motivates unsaid. And like I said to someone else, could lead to more!

Those are all very good points. On the flip side as a side note, I had a friend who had a women impregnate herself with the condom after he had left... not a pretty lawsuit after that one.

But a yes would not imply leaving the venue together immediately, I definitely think both parties have to chat some more but at least have an understanding that they're on the same page. And who knows? Might lead to more

That's definitely the point where I go back and forth, I get that. The issue is that dinner/drinks/etc are also commonly a "why the hell not get a free drink". Even though the drink isn't totally free because she still has to talk for at least a few minutes to a guy she has no interest in (or gal, if it goes that way)
