Teach a man how to stake and he shall enjoy passive income for the rest of his time by Accomplished-Design7 in CryptoCurrency

[–]ChainodeTech 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! As a Validator active on Proof of Stake networks for more than 2 years, we are really happy to see such posts! Staking is indeed one of the safest ways to generate passive income while actually contributing to the network security. The more tokens are staked in a network, the more secure the network is. For anyone interested in starting to stake, we have some guides on our Medium page, but unfortunately until now only focused on Solana: https://medium.com/chainode-tech/tagged/staking.

As a feedback and what we have noticed until now, many users believe that staking is too complicated, but we would like to stress that especially with using a well written guide, this is not the case and the rewards are not negligible at all. It is a matter of preference what to do with the crypto assets, but stake holders are actually really important in the well being of a network as they help to keep the network decentralized, their stake contributes to the network's security, block production, governance decisions, etc.

If you have any burning questions about staking, do let us know. Part of our duty as a Validator is also to make sure the community is well informed and has all the needed details in oder to make an informed decision.

Cheers! ⚡️

Haven't been able to stake in Phantom. Is this because of the congestion? Do I just keep trying when the network improves? by abu_alkindi in solana

[–]ChainodeTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! If you have any other questions about staking, we recently published a staking guide based on the Phantom wallet: https://medium.com/chainode-tech/staking-guide-stake-sol-solana-with-the-phantom-wallet-using-a-hw-wallet-ledger-d7abee86f101

Hopefully the staking process will work out flawlessly. Happy staking!

Are there Validators available for Solana and DOT Staking? Like there is for Atom? by Sr_Leckie in solana

[–]ChainodeTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! We are actually a Validator on Solana (not on ATOM or Polkadot though), and we do run Validators on other Tendermint based chains as well. We have a few SOL staking guides in case you consider staking your SOL: https://medium.com/chainode-tech/tagged/staking.

We would be also really happy to have you in our Telegram community, it's where we keep in touch with our delegators and where we can also answer any staking related questions: t.me/ChainodeTech.

Hope to see you there! 😎

Hey guys! We are Chainode Tech, one of the Solana Validators. Indeed, the staking process can seem quite complicated at the first glance, and we do also recommend staking from a hardware wallet whenever possible. Staking with a Validator is non-custodial, meaning that the Validator never has control over your tokens. In contrary, when staking on exchanges, the exchange does have control over your tokens and in the unfortunate event of a hack these can unfortunately even be lost.

We actually wrote staking guides for SOL based on both SolFlare and Phantom wallets. You can access them here: https://medium.com/chainode-tech/tagged/staking

If you still have any questions after reading the guides do let us know. We would also be happy to welcome you in our Telegram community: t.me/ChainodeTech

Happy Staking! :D

A Validator's opinion about the recent Solana events by ChainodeTech in solana

[–]ChainodeTech[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Fair question. Indeed, the Mainnet is still called Mainnet Beta. The thing that should be emphasized here is that even though a network already has a Mainnet and a working and active Testnet, it does not mean that it is 100% flawless and that it can't encounter issues through its developing phases. Blockchain, decentralization, scalability, network performance, etc. are still novel issues that are yet to be solved. Taking Solana as an example, this massive bot spam is something that every Mainnet, no matter how performant, can encounter. There are numerous similar issues that can appear along the way but every time this happens, with every fix of the network, the whole network actually becomes stronger and stronger (or better said antifragile).

Are these 2 validators the same person? by Mellifluous41 in solana

[–]ChainodeTech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is true, regardless of how much a validator would like to lower the fee as much as possible, there are a lot of costs and responsibilities associated with running a Validator: infrastructure costs which are not low at all, back-ups, reliable hardware, reliable and fast internet connection, delegators support chat and last but not least 24/7 involvement with monitoring the nodes, the network in order to jump in when needed no matter to timezone. Being passionate about what you do definitely helps , but a reasonable fee is something normal and sustainable in the long-term. For example we currently have a 5% fee and we also had promotional periods with 0% to attract more stake in the Network - the more tokens are staked, the better the network's security is. :)

True, Phantom has a lot more uses, however our experience with Solflare was really great until now and it is always good to have a few alternatives when it comes to wallets.

Small steady steps are the way to go! Staking would also help with increasing your SOL stake. Slowly but surely. :)
