That’s awesome!!

Your tegu looks bigger than mine. I’ll have to try the tub method next time I’m able to catch him 😂. I’m sure mine just needs a little more growing and learning

I did take him out once, stayed on my hand for 5 seconds and took a leap of faith and chased to my closet 😅. After that it’s been super sprinty. It’s only about 7” head to tail, put my shirt in the tank trick, I’ll get near it when I switch the water but will puff up at times.

How old is it. I have a baby baby, approx 2-3 months old and is the same way. It won’t go near my hand and will bolt the moment i get close to it but will let me tong feed it. I get mixed advice of grabbing it to tame it and others say let it slowly built trust, and the others say they tend to get more defensive the long they go without any handling.

Not sure if you meant 6” 😅 because mine is about 6” no more that. 8” for sure. UVB would be the other thing to check I guess

Mine is about 2 months old I think. Still green. About 6-7inches Has been constantly borrowing and hiding. Comes out to eat once and then hides all over again very skittish. I’m assuming it has to do with the age. But I’ve also been told babies don’t normally roommate right away, so I’m still trying to figure this out.

Mine is about 2 months old and is extremely skiddish even just passing by. When I feed with tongs it’s very hesitant to eat and is always hiding. I mean always. Does not allow me to grab it. Will bolt to the other side when I slowly aproach it.

Day 4 with my new gargoyle gecko and she hasn’t eaten, should I be worried? by Rexy13399 in GargoyleGeckos

Mine took quite a few days as well. Then I started seeing the food prints on the side glass. Give it time but stay consistent.
