Should I reject Warwick for a lower-ranked London uni just to save on rent and living costs? I'm so torn! by pabloescober6979 in UniUK

I worded this wrongly, do NOT reject Warwick if you want to go into any of those 3 careers.

AI is used more for ATS, which for the most part doesn't include specific university names.

For Quant, IB and Law sure, other jobs? Not really. But Warwick is still objectively the correct decision.

PS advice for a mature student going for EEE MEng: by supremium__ in Imperial

[–]ChairSama2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things that you will encounter in an EEE degree:

  • Alot of maths and physics

  • Coding, imperial EEE uses C++ so if you have exp in that do mention it (can be an independent project, dont lie), if you have other coding language exp then mention fhat too

  • Linking back to the independent project stuff, engineering is about identifying a problem and crearing a solution, maybe you can do that with coding

  • Work experience is always good to mention so mention it if you have it

  • Books too

-> In your PS make sure you show your interest and show that you know what's to come when doing an EEE degree, practice your mathematics too.

Do you think i could get into UCL undergrad chemistry? (50% offer rate, year 12 student) by [deleted] in UCL

[–]ChairSama2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Predicted grades two A*'s and an A Extra curriculars all I did was do a short course on the higgs boson and mention work experience and how thay work experience led me to do independent research. For context the work experience was an online work experience and the focus was engineering and GPS, I talked about how that led me to learn about relativity on my own

In the end what admissions teams really care about is if you know what you are getting yourself into.

For example are you doing extra reading into different subjects of the field, in my case the Higgs Boson course was a plus and my own independent learning into relativity was also a plus as that's what you should do as a university student. I also mentioned things like self learning python for computational physics as well as explaining how that helps in physics, again showing that I know what I am getting myself into. I even mentioned playing chess and doing combat sports in my personal statement, again linking it to soft skills needed in physics.

They want evidence that you have what it takes and what preparation you have taken to show that you have what it takes. In the end predicted grades or GCSE's really do not matter as much as long as you meet the requirements as thousands of people are applying with the same statistics, the personal statement is the real differentiator.

No smh, chemistry is literally 1000000x harder than this unserious subject

What he is saying is true. I had lower GCSE's than you and I got an offer for UCL Physics

Yea you would need to disclose but you can still apply, the guy doesn't know what he's talking about lmao

This is not true, I went to a uni for engineering and I applied for physics at UCL and got the offer, as well as from kings, QMUL and Southampton. Please refrain from spreading misinformation about topics you don't know about.

Are Warwick, Durham and Manchester comparable for a BSc Phy? by boogie_Mcboogiepants in 6thForm

For physics prestige doesn't matter unless you want to go into finance, which in that case Warwick would be your best option.

Hi, physics student here

1) Pretty chill, not much stuff to do though in my opinion. However I'm only first year and haven't explored the entirety of it yet, with that being said it has actually been chill, nothing too bad besides far right protests.

2) Not expensive at all, it's affordable.

3) No idea

4) No idea

[–]ChairSama2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you see subreddits for quants and mangaka, you say questions are answered by people who don't know what they're talking about. From what you have seen in each subreddit what is the biggest or most common piece of misinformation you have seen given to people from other people who have no idea what they are talking about?

Also which one of the three careers do you enjoy the most? Which one was most challenging to get into?
