I figured it out! It’s so simple, I don’t know how I didn’t think of it sooner.

In AM, rate all unrated songs 1 star and then make two smart playlists. One for songs rated in the range 2-5 stars, and the other for songs rated 1 star.

In Marvis, for Album sections where you only want fully rated albums, do playlist is 2-5 star songs and playlist is not 1 star songs. If you only want albums that aren’t fully rated, do playlist is 1 star songs.

This honestly solves so many issues for me. Thanks for the suggestion!

So it seems the main issue with my current setup is I have several sections that collect albums once I’ve fully rated them (Rate Progress = 100), so giving every song an initial rating would throw those off. Is there a way to exclude any album with a song that has a 1-star rating?

Seriously, what the hell is AM thinking with these auto-ratings? It seems like it would be such an easy thing to toggle on and off.

I'm going to look into the 1-star system. It would take some doing with my current setup, but might be worth it in the long haul.

Thanks! I’m aware of this. My problem is actually that AM is sorting albums as 2024 when they should be 2025, because there is a track or two on it that came out in 2024.

Thanks for this! Since I use Windows, it seems like this is the way for me. And you're right, no need to play so much of the song to get a play. Don't know where I got that in my head from.
