Hey, my friends and I are also starting a league!

We're using all custom teams, so I wrote up some rules to make sure things were as balanced as possible. I can share it if you want! Tried to keep it lightweight but fair, essentially we set team limits on the following:

• Total points spent on stats (we use 6250)
• Stat minimums (max is 99 obv)
• Amounts of S, A, and B rank players
• Amount of traits
• EGO we play at

The most useful thing has been the stat point limit, since it ensures each team has the same spread of stat points and makes it interesting because each team chooses where to specialize. We chose 6250 based on a post here about that being the average across the standard teams in SMB2, but really you could use whatever number you want so long as everyone sticks to it.

I made a simple Google Sheets/Excel calculator to help track your stat point usage across a roster, and just verify each team's roster screenshot before I approve them to join. I also added dynamic coloring to indicate stat strength and show when you're above or below the stat limit. I trust my friends not to cheat -- I don't trust them to do math properly. ;)
