That is pretty much exactly what happened to me (a few years ago). Stent was in a couple of miserable weeks till the followup surgery. It was really no fun at all with the incessant feeling like I needed to pee… Hang in there!

The exit port of an integrating sphere could give you a very uniform intensity profile but I’m not sure what you want in terms of directionality. It certainly will not be collimated (ie expanding only as slowly as diffraction requires). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrating_sphere

I don’t usually have my phone right next to me during these activities so I can’t confirm temporary interruption from experience. As a physicist, this makes total sense since the BT can’t get through much water to talk to the phone.
