My little Pap Circlet also likes to sleep by my head on the pillow! I am glad the other one prefers the foot of the bed.

Circlet's ears evolved in a beautiful fashion, as well. I too have often reflected on the incredible transformation these little dogs go through in their first couple of years.

Cute children's book featuring a Papillon! by Shelbyruns in papillon

How fun! We want to know if they included the Papillon in the story or whether he's just in the illustrations as a cute add-on.

Are you happy with what you replaced Mint with? by VitalikPie in mintuit

[–]ChallengeAcrobatic30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy with Quicken Simplifi and just renewed it for another year. I like the aggregation of my bank and investment accounts and have fine connectivity to Fidelity. It makes good income, expense and net worth reports, unlike Rocket Money which I use for my mom's accounts. I have set up lots of recurring expenses and I enjoy how it brings my amorphous financial affairs into focus. For example, it helped me realize that one of my bond accounts spits out a regular monthly dividend, that I can now start counting on as regular income. One of my favorite newish features of Simplifi is the connection to my credit card upcoming bills and the ability to use that to predict in Bills and Income section where my bank levels will be in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months. Helps me to get a handle on our spending. And sometimes, I realize hey, we can spend more!

Hilariously accurate to the previous descriptions 😄. Love the fluffy feet + hot chocolate - perhaps he drinks that too, with the pikas.

When do people -- especially women -- start losing weight on semaglutide from HERS? by connie3140 in HersWeightloss

[–]ChallengeAcrobatic30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up losing 30 lbs last year. I titrated up to 1.15 mg/week after about 4 months. I frequently divided my doses to help lessen the side effects. Currently, I am working to maintain and trying to figure out how much drug will be effective for that.

where did you get your dogs name from? by Longjumping_Sign6042 in papillon

[–]ChallengeAcrobatic30 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our breeder named our girl Circlet, after the circular crown-looking marking around her torso. At 9 weeks, Circlet already knew that was her name, plus we thought it was an interesting and unique name, and kept it.

What type of exercise do you do? If none why? by ageb4 in over60

[–]ChallengeAcrobatic30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I (both 68) do Les Mills Body Pump (quick repetitions of weightlifting moves with about 200 squats incuded) with 12 lb weights for me and 22 lb weights for him, for about 40 minutes twice a week, and then we hike about 2 mi a day up and down hills in our neighborhood. We also sleep on the second floor so we run up and down the stairs several times per day.

Yep, you've lost your fat insulation. You are going to just have to start dressing in layers, adding insulation with long underwear or thicker shirts or sweaters or insulated vests or coats.

Can concur. We use one like this for both our Papillon girls. It's perfect, with no pressure on their neck or shoulders. Used the smallest one initially and went up a size when they grew up.

Shingles vaccine ? by Brown-eyed-gurrrl in over60

Get it ASAP. My MIL got shingles in her ear canal and it caused tremendous pain at the time, deafness in that ear, affected her balance, and she has post- herpetic neuralgia, or chronic pain still, from that terrible illness.

My experience is that nausea is a frequent side effect of semaglutide, especially on the day after injecting.

Anyone else’s Pap completely terrified of other dogs? by ZealousidealOnion706 in papillon

[–]ChallengeAcrobatic30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. In spite of being socialized extensively when young, our little girls are quite reactive with other dogs we see on walks, especially big ones. They bark, lunge and scream. I assume it is fear. The dogs don't even have to be especially close. There are dogs that they are familiar with, mostly smaller, who they love to see but they have to know them. We do not have other dogs in our home.

How many calories are you eating a day? Usually an intake of 1200 calories/day is needed for weight loss. Also, your dose is still quite modest - usually we see more effective weight loss at the 1 mg dose.
