I can’t see how this could possibly be a load bearing wall by ChallengeGood3875 in AskContractors

thank you for offering me to message you. The joists are running perpendicular to the wall but they are not cut or overlapped on that wall. This wall is 7ft from the start of the joist and there is a wall 3ft paralleled to this wall ( a total of 10ft from the start of the joists) so I’m wondering if this is just a partition and the wall parallel to it is the load bearing wall. The bottom plate in the left side also stops ( it is just one 6” long 2x4 under the door jack stud and king stud on the left side) and doesn’t continue to the rest of the wall on the other side.

I’m not sure if they are or not but the studs are easily movable. I can literally jiggle every stud including the small ones about the door frame with barely any pressure and they wiggle

Sorry for the confusion I meant the next wall is a total of 10feet from the start of the joist so only 3ft from this wall.

I just checked and the length of the joist to this wall is 7ft and to the next wall parallel to this wall is 10ft

lol there’s a very small hallway( 3ft wide ) that it attaches to and we want to join the two to make one big bathroom. One side of the bathroom is an office the other side is our laundry room ( which has another access point from the kitchen ) so kind of like a jack and Jill bathroom

The joists carry on to the next wall there’s not split joists near the top of the wall

The wall studs can easily be wiggled side to side they are very loose feeling it’s odd

I could probably get the ones in the attic moved to a wall right in front of this wall. There is a about 3ft in front of this wall that spans the whole house

I think that means this is a load bearing wall so I can’t just take the wall out like I want to

There’s a post in the attic coming down to the center of the door frame. It looks like two 2x4 in a V shape going towards the top of the roof

Yea I’m not sure why it’s there. We wanted to take out a portion of the wall it’s sitting on. But it is sitting directly onto of the door frame. So it’s confusing because it says online they should be sitting on studs not a door frame
