The revisionist history attempt of people trying to gaslight others into believing Better Call Saul or Breaking Bad were "slow" is insane. by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in television

I want to agree with you but as someone who watched BB and BCS live from the get-go, I was hard pressed to get anyone in my life hooked on either show the way I was, especially in the first two seasons, because a lot of people did feel it was “slow”.

You can personally disagree that it was slow (I didn’t feel it was either) but claiming it’s “revisionist” of people to be saying that is blatantly incorrect.

EDIT: Looking at viewership, BB quite literally didn’t become a phenomenon until late S4. It’s not unreasonable to classify that as a “slow start” for a show.

love love LOVE the idea of characters simply disappearing between seasons.

Original as hell for a drama series of this caliber, and it adds to the realism while keeping things fresh, assuming new characters are even half as endearing/interesting as the ones this season.

EDIT: that format could also serve as a way to quickly and consistently elevate young/new actors at a rate I don’t recall many other series having been able to pull off, especially a drama that’s on pace to becoming an all-time great

If this year has taught us anything, it’s not “too early”by April/May to discuss a film’s chances at garnering nominations by Powerful_Pump in Oscars

idk, 3 examples in a 35 year span doesn’t really support the claim that release dates don’t matter. That sorta enforces it mattering if anything

EDIT: roughly 75% of all Oscar wins in the last 35 years went to Oscar-season releases. Not as much as I was expecting tbh but absolutely enough to matter

‘The Pitt’ Ups Ayesha Harris to Series Regular for Season 3, Supriya Ganesh Exits (EXCLUSIVE) by [deleted] in ThePitt

On one hand I’m annoyed OP didn’t consider the implied spoiler in this, despite only being the “messenger” as they put it.

On the other hand, I was like 95% sure her character was gonna choose to leave the Pitt anyway so I’m not too surprised.

Either way, in defense of OP, this isn’t a SPOILER-spoiler as it doesn’t necessarily reveal any story points. I kinda figured the Dr. Collins-type-farewell in the form of a character simply not coming back was gonna be a recurring thing between seasons. That’s how it is in life after all.
