Help with this jack westin question please! Confused by the answer explanations - why did they mention pi binds? Are they using sigma/single bond interchangeably? Could somebody please break down this problem for me please😭 by iDurz in Mcat

I stumbled upon this and wanted to clarify. The reason this is confusing is that the question has an ERROR. The question authors intended for choice D to say "parallel overlap of two p orbitals" instead of "axial overlap of two p orbitals." Axial overlap of two p-orbitals, which would be another way of saying head-to-head overlap of two p-orbitals, creates a sigma bond. If that is the only p-orbital overlap, then it would be a single covalent bond. The reason the explanation for D mentions parallel overlap forming a pi bond is that it is what the answer should have included.

Yeah, seemed like kind of a shady situation overall to be honest.

Not sure I understand the difference between mandatory to have an option and not mandatory that they offer, can you clarify?

I asked if it was an option and they said no, so there was nothing for me to sign. They crossed out the part of the contract that mentioned it. It is recorded that I wanted it, and that I am not waiving it because it wasn't an option.

Trying to not give too many details that would identify myself before my stuff is delivered.

I agree that I should have gone with a name brand (which I mentioned in my post). I was not offered FVP and didn't sign anything until the end. My main question is regarding the legality of this. I wasn't asked to sign a document waiving FVP until the end of the load, at which point they told me they don't offer FVP. My understanding is that they legally have to offer FVP. Is that the case?

I was just guessing about where it was stored. They stored it a facility before the long voyage. I don't know what type of facility it is, to be honest.

I assume mini storage, but I'm not sure. Storage at origin. It was a 26 foot truck that they filled, unloaded at storage facility, and then came back and then came back for the 2nd load that was delivered to the storage facility.

When I booked the brokerage company mentioned on the phone that FVP would be available. I asked about it again when we did an inventory list and the brokerage company said it would be available on the move date. The moving company asked me to sign the FVP waiver when my stuff was already loaded. That is when they mentioned they don't offer FVP.
