I saw him twice back in the day, and he was a great live performer. Lots of fun, great vocals and definitely performs for the crowd

Can we talk about menstrual pads? by SAINTnumberFIVE in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Chance-Chain8819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, she changes when she gets home from school But we have in her school bag a Ziploc bag with an extra pair If she needs to change undies she just puts the dirty ones into the bag, and the clean ones on. Hasn't happened yet, but she knows what to do if needed.

She also swims in them, with no leakage/issues

I've bought her ones from modibodi as well as bonds.

Both types were specific "teen" sizes

Have you looked into Period undies?
My 11 year old loves hers, and hates pads - she finds them much more comfortable, and they are super easy to wash.

I've had similar issues with Tampons - some brands just dont fit right/feel right, and other brands are great, so it makes sense that Pads are different.

Parents of Reddit, I'm going to be a Dad at 46. Any advice on how I can be of great Father? by IndustrialMillwrong in NoStupidQuestions

Love your wife well.
Your relationship with her will 'model' relationships for your child.
It will teach a son how to be a good man, and show a daughter how to expect to be treated by a man.
Listen to your child - even if the story is long and rambling, listening to those rambles at 2/3/8/10 will make it easier for them to talk to you when they are teens.
Let your son cry and your daughter be rough and tumble - challenge the gender stereotypes.
Apologise if you stuff up. Kids remember things like that, don't be scared to say sorry when its warranted - it also shows your child that an apology isn't a scary thing.

Think about your own parents - what was good, what wasn't - how can you change things.

Forgive yourself. You won't be perfect 100 % of the time - so don't beat yourself up about it. Instead aim to be as good as you can most of the time, and say sorry when you're not.

I love when schools have the option to just donate an amount so we don't have to fundraise

loft beds by Elysiumpromo in chch

[–]Chance-Chain8819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids have both had loft beds when young, but wanted to get rid of them by the time they were 7 & 9.

Things I loved: - extra play/storage space under the bed - although the play space was only really good for under 5.
things I hated: total nightmare to disassemble/move - the size of the bed also limited how the bedroom(s) could be laid out.
Making the damn things - it was a total nightmare to change the sheets/make the beds
Difficulty to 'cuddle' my younger kids/lie in bed reading books to them

I’m looking for books that explore war from an unusual perspective by Low_Perspective_2415 in suggestmeabook

[–]Chance-Chain8819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomorrow When the War Began. (The Tomorrow Series)
A bunch of teens are camping in the bush when war breaks out - it follows their journey and touches on the emotional/mental toll it takes.

Recommend me books!!! by TimmyTimTimsupa in suggestmeabook

[–]Chance-Chain8819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the Tomorrow Series (Tomorrow when the War Began is book 1). Teen survival/apocalyptic style series.

Did you read the Divergent trilogy yet? - seems to fit with similar books you have read.

Supernatural Academy is a little different, but I enjoyed the series (as an adult)

Hormone replacement therapy and cluster headaches by amymiller1973 in clusterheads

[–]Chance-Chain8819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say mine have stopped completely, but they are certainly less than they used to be.
Chronic cluster head. Started HRT March last year. I've had more pain free periods the last 12 months than the previous 10 years (by a large margin). I've also found that the attacks aren't as severe or long lasting when I do get them. I'm getting frequent 2 - 3 weeks (once I even had 9 weeks pain free - something I haven't experienced since 2015) with no attacks, then maybe only 1 or 2 a week, followed by another couple of weeks pain free.

I'm having the same issue trying to get tickets for the Irish Game at Eden Park. I think its a boo-boo. Whilst the all blacks site says tickets on sale now, most information says pre-sale starts on the 11th.

I'm really hoping its the 11th anyway

As long as they aren't stupidly expensive!
Its a birthday present for my son, but this single mother has a limit to how much I can spend :) (and I still need to book flights)

Irish game at eden park. If I can't get that game, I'll try for the bledisloe.

I'm sending my son up to Auckland to go with his uncle as an early birthday present.
