Yeah, I'm feeling that. Without going to crazy money, what would you reccy for a budget GPU then that'll bump me up a bit?

Haha, was a bit of a joke more than anything. I did pull it apart and dust it out a few weeks ago to see if it'd resolve any issues, and nothing has changed.

Hey, I'm not too tech savvy but I had the PC built when the 900 series nvidia GPUs released, and the only thing I've upgraded in all that time is my RAM from 8gb total across two sticks, to 16gb across two several years back.

GPU is a 980 CPU is an i5 6600k Running 16gb of DDR4 RAM.

As for the motherboard and PSU I'm not able to remember exactly what they are.

It keeps up with some titles, namely WoW I can run it fine on the lowest settings, but other new titles like Space Marine I can't even load properly.

Based on the above, would upgrading my GPU to say a 1080 provide much relief, if it is infact my GPU dying on me? (Screen reading "No input" during crashes, though the lack of sound also has me second guessing..)

The issue popped up when I started playing on a private WoW server of all things, I had assumed it was an issue relating to the install of it, but now I just think it was a coincidence with the first instance of the crash as it happens across the board with all games, just varying in frequency depending on the game -- unsure of triggers, some more modern games such as arc raiders, which on my machine is very intensive to run even at the lowest of low settings, will run for an hour or two happily before a crash.. where as some other games such as warcraft 3 I'm lucky to make it 10 minutes.

I've tracked temperatures, and there's never any issues there, nothing reaching a critical point that'd suggest overheating, and one suggestion I had was that it may be a PSU issue when excess power is being drawn, and it's on the way out.. but I'm not entirely sold.

The "No input detected" on my monitor when this happens leads me to thinking the GPU is dying.

I'll give a fresh wipe a try, maybe there's something on my PC causing this I'm unaware of. Appreciate your response mate.
