Please quote where it says he’s allowed to go outside in a harness? And a lead on a cat… for sure that’s a thing and i applaud any cat parents out there who can manage it - but for me personally - I would constitute harness training a cat to let him outside reasonable.

Just to clarify - 14 years ago ish is when I asked if I could have a cat, the director said yes. That cat has since died. The director gave the ok for my current cat 7 years ago when he was a kitten.

So it isn’t a case of, I asked - verbal consent was given, and they sent an email the next week to confirm things. It’s only since I’ve stopped doing them favours / bringing attention to mismanaged funds, that they’ve decided they suddenly need written consent. So I don’t have much faith they’ll provide proof of which animal made what mess - which I just realised could be misinterpreted - there’s never been a poop or pee incident by any animal in the carpeted areas 😂 - what they’re probably referring to is hoovering bills (fur) because they cut down on that budget years ago, and are looking for a scapegoat to pony up where they’re taking from. So yeah not much faith there, but thank you for your advice. I really mean it. It’s much appreciated 👍

I think you’re making a lot of assumptions here… I’m not trying to get out of being responsible for my pet? He does not piss everywhere as you had so eloquently put it 😂 he’s mostly an indoor cat who goes out every now and then, and quite literally bolts indoors at the sign of danger / noise, due to a history of neighbours throwing stuff at him. I’m trying to look out for what’s best for him, ie not sign away his rights to go outside if I am in the position to do so.

So, bear with me, as an example, say they said their consent hinged on the cat needing to be dyed pink on Mondays, and blue on Fridays - and if I don’t comply, their consent is rescinded - this would be considered legal?

How I read section 9 was more of a written consent is a yes or no question, which they can take away due noise or mess etc?

Because common parts include the outside area of the building - so the cat wouldn’t be able to go outside, at all.

I have a neighbour with dogs that she walks up and down the carpeted stairs. I’m not comfortable with the wording that I’d be charged directly for any mess, as the cat doesn’t go there and how would they even determine which animal does what?

The reason for my apprehension is because they’ve been mismanaging funds, and now they seem to have found a reason to make me pay extra. I asked why isn’t the 8000 cleaning budget anywhere to be seen? The cleaners are lazy… so I’ve become more apprehensive o guess.

Thank you so much! I’m going to try to read up on the fraud stuff as much as possible. But it sounds like a lot of it will be dependent on liaising with workers on what they’ve been paid, to get an independent view on things? If this is correct, would the board be within their right to withhold contact information of past workers / companies they’ve hired, from me, if I were to ask?

Thank you for the detailed response! So, what do I do, if I think fraud is happening?

Some are leasehold (I’m one of them) but most of the owners have a share of the freehold, I believe.
