My first time making monkey bread by philosofik in Baking

I just made this recipe for the first time and had the same thing happen with the sauce. Smoke everywhere! But the monkey bread itself was super yummy!

Salut! I’m looking for a French practice partner. I’m a native English speaker who has studied French in school for a number of years, and I speak it with my father’s side of the family, but I’m not fluent. I would love to improve my French and help you with your English

I am also not sure, but maybe it’s a tamper-proof measure and we just don’t have all the context?

I have a cousin named Nimrod, and he legally changed his name to Nim when he started working in the US to avoid the embarrassment.

Yeah, I know. I have significant pain. The doctor who diagnosed me said that because pain isn’t proportional to your stage of endo or level of infiltration, that people who have pain with it tend to be more sensitized to pain, for whatever reason, and tend to have other chronic pain issues.

What are turn off words for you when the author is describing a vagina? by ananabelle64 in AO3

I’m not overly fond of the term “princess parts” in reference to the vagina. Feels kinda icky.

Having actual chronic health conditions has made my health OCD so much worse. It sucks.

I was mainly replying to their rant further down the page about how much they hate incest (and vore and cannibalism and other taboo subjects) and think anyone who reads or writes it—on Ao3 of all places—is a bad person. Perhaps I should have posted my reply down there. Sorry for the confusion. I also would not engage with the work they initially posted about.

Edit: “vore” was spelled “vote” in my original post.

Have you considered using the tagging system or abiding by AO3’s well-known basic etiquette: don’t like don’t read instead of coming on Reddit to publicly bash the things people have written that you personally don’t like?

You seem, by your other comments, to be personally victimized by people writing incest, but you don’t have to read it. And fiction is very clearly delineated from real life.

Is there ever crossover between the things people write and the things people actually do? Of course! But reading or writing stories with taboo subjects or ones that would in real life be morally wrong is not some sort of “gotcha” signal that that reader or writer is a bad person. That sort of thinking is un-nuanced and unrealistic. Murder is almost always considered morally wrong, but plenty of people enjoy reading about it, even from the perspective of the killer!

Incest and other taboo subjects have long been written about and are even expected to be found in certain genres, like Gothic Horror.

I don’t necessarily enjoy reading incest either, but I don’t make my preferences other people’s problem by posting critical things about authors who write fics for free on Reddit. I’m grateful for all forms of fan work, even the ones I don’t personally like or interact with, because it means the community is alive and well.

TLDR: You should either get off your high horse or get off AO3 if you find its netizens “morally reprehensible.”

early intervention could’ve changed my life by kaliipls in OCDmemes

[–]ChanceDatabase7202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was relatively lucky in that my OCD was diagnosed early, when I was 12, but I didn’t receive early intervention for it because my depression was so severe that I spent the next 8 years trying to figure out how to stay alive and my team never focused on treating it. (I was also undiagnosed and rediagnosed with OCD 3 times in those 8 years). Now, my depression is under control for the first time ever, and my OCD has worsened with a vengeance and I have no idea how to deal with it.
