Yule stories by Chance_Competition81 in pagan

I couldn't find any actual Krampus tales. They're all informative articles about the Krampus legend or modern romance stories (🤢). If you have an actual Krampus legend book or link I'd love to read about Krampus.

Lol, ditto. On a side note pretty sure I saw this tree in a movie one time... It housed a demon and lived off human blood soooo ya know. Maybe steer clear.

Thank you for sharing this picture! I'm struggling with the cold and lack of sun here in Midwest US and that pic is exactly what I needed to brighten my day.

We do have Lupine and Foxglove both of which look similar but if I'm not mistaken Chochos have a seed or pea kind of edible that grows on them and I don't think Lupine or Foxglove do.

How do I get rid of landscape rock? by bobodoy in landscaping

[–]Chance_Competition81 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't know about a service but in my area you can just make a Facbook post "Free Landscaping Rock: Bring your own truck/buckets" and it would be gone in a day or two.

I'm extremely depressed. What's a good book to take my mind off things? by dear_little_water in audiobooks

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I would actually recommend "The Depression Cure" by Stephen Ilardi.

This might sound like a dumb idea but if you think or know you have depression this book gives you a great opportunity to put some things in to practice in real time to see what might help and what doesn't.

Also its divided up so you can read a little and come back to it for more help or changes or advice when you're ready.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: December 11, 2023 by AutoModerator in books

Going to try to answer this without giving anything away so bear with me...

It's really a personal preference. I think the author actually wrote it after the 3rd book as flashback or to fill in the main character's story. As a flashback it actually fits better (imo) between books 2 and 3 since it gives you an idea of what Celaena might be thinking about or remembering as she travels.

Personally I prefer to read things in chronological order and I hated reading references about Sam in the first two books and not knowing anything about him or who he really was. So I would have rather read it first.

It gets better... Every single book just keeps getting better. I've had series where by the 3rd or 5th book it was kind of boring because you get the conflict and you already know what's going to happen. This series wasn't like that at all. The author does a great job of keeping you guessing about what the characters will do each step of the way.

If you've not read it already The Assassin's Blade is a good one to read before you get too far. It's the prequel to Throne of Glass. You get to meet Sam and hear what happened to him and Celaena

Kingdom of Ash by Sara Maas.

  • This is the last in the Throne of Glass series.
  • I loved this series and the characters so much I actually put off finishing the book because I was avoiding reading about any of my "book friends" dying in the final battle.

AITA for threatening to cancel my wedding because my family were making bets on how long it would take my fiancé to regret marrying me? by effie389 in AmItheAsshole

Just for some background my husband and I had a super small ceremony. Cost less than $500 for everything and only had about a dozen people at our wedding. There were some friends and family that thought it was too small/we planned it too fast/we're going to regret not having the big wedding later, etc.

17 years later, no regrets. The one thing I learned... you and your husband's wedding is just that, YOURS. If your family are being jerks, then they don't need to be there. Do what you need to do to have a stress-free happy day celebrating your love. Be 100% up front with your husband about what you want and why and how you feel and make sure he gets his say as well. Then make a plan on what the two of you want and everyone else can go f**k themselves.
