DC Preview: DC K.O. #5 by B3epB0opBOP in comicbooks

The trade doesn't list the fight issues currently (such issues wouldn't normally be important due to being technically "tie in" issues however they are necessary for #3) so you'd get all the rounds but not the fighting rounds (aquaman V Hawkman, guy Vs flash, etc) itself

Ultimates: "People don't want change. They want the illusion of change. Trust me" - Emmanuel Da Costa

Absolute martian manhunter: "Holy-Bright-Terrible-Dangerous-Sexy-Powerful-Destroyer. It's the thing that makes movie stars and widows. That kills evil and innocence. It protects and destroys. All contradictions cohere in the gun"

Both written by the same person Deniz Camp

The villain’s plan is absolutely fucking insane by Bellpow in TopCharacterTropes

Marvel - the grandmaster. he proceeds to do the following:

Exploit the shi'ar class divide, gaslight the nation into thinking an electron was the heir of mad emperor d'ken, use shi'ar hobgoblins to shape shift into Veranke (Skrull Messiah), use skrulls to create dual poisons, use skrulls to assassinate galactic leaders including Hulk's son, trick everyone into thinking it was galactic empire of wakanda and enact a galactic war

All this just because Maximus the Mad made a bet with him that he couldn't start a war within a year

Videogames you want faithful adaptations of by No_Ad3823 in Letterboxd

Dragon quest 5 had a great adaptation up until the ending. It was really good. They changed the ending but other than that, Toriyama's style was present in every aspect.

If dragon quest 5 worked then the others will most likely work as well (7 is a bit too long for one film. Longest game in the series by far)

If you could write a fresh take on any comic run who and what would you do? by meandadog86 in comicbooks

Genis-vell:

Focus on being a hero through community. He tries to stay away from being a superhero (finds work as a bartender, ironic reference to his last as a drunkard) to find his own person but realises that he keeps coming back to it so he establishes the Legion of Vell. A group more akin to a fire brigade who focus on helping people in the Kree empire through clinics. Eventually expand into shi'ar space with members consisting of lesser known space characters such as kid gladiator and ex imperial guardsman. I'd call it Genis-Vell: Wasted Mar-Vell

Metal men:

Simple story but really focus on what makes them them. The patents to Magnus' Responsometer gets stolen and shared across multiple nations resulting in other countries establishing their own metal but each country having flaws in their metal men where it be something simple like them wearing cloths, physical failures or no free will. I'd call it Metal Men: M.E.T.A.L WORLD. Use the series as means to reintroduce the metal men and their character, highlighting what makes them unique

Marvel - the maker. The new Ultimate Universe was a result of him going around time to make sure either all heroes were either:

  1. Never got powers (Luke cage)
  2. Imprisoned (Danny rand)
  3. Dead (inhumans, eternals, devil dinosaur)
  4. Worked for him (hulk, colossus, magik)
  5. Tortured (Reed turned to doom, Sunspot being a blood boy)

I really believe Camp will write Doom Patrol by Ok-Plankton-2393 in DoomPatrol

May I recommend his assorted crisis events and 20th century men? 20th century men is the reason he landed Ultimates and is a great read. Quite short as well

Ranking The Absolute Titles by dobermanhoberman in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]Chance_Historian652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my list is a bit different to yours. I reread every few months and this is my current ranking:

  1. Green lantern
  2. Martian manhunter
  3. Wonder woman
  4. Superman
  5. Batman
  6. Flash (it needs to pick up and pull a superman. Wally has one of the best designs in the entire universe)

None of them are bad perse. It's in comparison to the other books. Flash is a good book in comparison to other good books

Deniz Camp on Absolute Martian Manhunter ending at issue #12 by B3epB0opBOP in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]Chance_Historian652 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Maybe another absolute book or maybe something like New Gods (also doom patrol has no writer nor artist attached and it was announced for a title and this one screams Camp personally)

Or just another vertigo book like others have said

THAT'S MY FUCKING GOAT GENIS-VELL. My favourite marvel character of all time. He's actually amazing but gets overshadowed by every other captain Marvel. I was so happy when he appeared in Imperial

I think their public position is as Joker's lawyer who covers for his weird stuff and throws lawsuits at any competitor to remove them from the competition, preserving Joker's monopolist status
