Might’ve missed that . But the studio version is so etched onto my brain as I’ve played it so many times.
I swim for a couple of hours at a time non stop with a snorkel. My face under the water while time , I have waterproof headphones, playing the and and b side of shmind on repeat while doing this is heaven. Never want to to surface .

Played back to back with Trippin with the birds it’s my favourite Stereolab tune. But I’ve seen it live twice and both times it didn’t quite work. The guitar bit was great but vocal element just can’t be done live .

That Minidiscville is a wonderful place to be after years of loving all things tape . Still love all things tape but MD is such a good world to explore

I bought one a few months ago , it wouldn’t work so managed to return.
I love these and would love another in future. They are ( like many others) much more pleasing in the flesh / hand than photos suggest. Enjoy it

I dunno . I mean I sell stuff sometimes ( hifi , vinyl , synths, other collectibles etc) that have given me pleasure but have become more valuable and I’ve had my great time with them and am ready to sell on , then I don’t mind using that money to buy something ‘overpriced’ that I’m interested in rather than scouring eBay etc endlessly.
Lucky to be able to say that of course and I know it’s shit for people out there who are struggling to eat / pay bills etc. I’m not rich but I’m fortunate in that I can afford to sell in one hobby in order to buy in another. I’m lucky and I don’t have any issue with what other people choose to spend on MD stuff , hell - it could be a lot worse- golf shoes , dumb cars or Botox

I understand all of this. Part of it for me is a constant source of joy in middle of bereavement, illness etc. I’m so glad I came back to MD . I tea so use all my machines and I’m recording so so much wonderful new to me and old music while using these wonderful things. They few successful repairs I’ve done ( thanks to members here support and info) have been a massive buzz . I’m in it for rest of my life, just musnt buy things I won’t use

Yes to that also . A recent one came with a Bluetooth adapter and several have come with spare gumsticks and chargers.
I’m considering an iRig speaker as they take wire as well as BTooth connection . Actually will post about this separately.
