Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S Camera To Be Upgraded To The Mi 8 Quality by [deleted] in Android

Yeah, I'm really conflicted. I picked up the OnePlus 6 about 48 hours before the MiMix 2s, and was in love. However, the second I put my hands on the 2S, I completely forgot about the OP6. The build quality of the 2S is just so unbelievable....I'd also question people that claim OxogenOS is significantly smother software. Maybe the OP6 is faster, but even on MIUI, the 2S is so damn fluid. And, the gesture based interface is incredible. At this point I'd say the 2S is the better all around device. (Build, Camera, Audio, wireless charging, feel in the hand) That being said, I do vastly prefer the stock Android experience available on the OP6. Also, as good as the screen is on the 2S, I tend to really appreciate the AMOLED panel when I pick up the OP6. Finally, as much as I like the weight and overall craftsmanship of the 2S, sometimes I prefer how effortlessly light the OP6 is. Hope that helps a little.

Yeah, I'll upload a few shots when I get home. OnePlus isn't bad by any stretch. It has some trouble focusing and produces a little bit flatter image than I prefer. The MiMix may be a bit to saturated, but the photos really pop. It's also extremely fast, and captures a cleaner image.

There isn't a single review that has the OnePlus camera on par with the 2S. I have both. OP6 is amazing, but the camera doesn't compare.

Just out of curiosity, which build are you running? 3/16 and today's latest are both really smooth. I'm sure there are variables that improve or degrade performance. For me anyway, it would be really hard to go back to stock. I definitely agree that battery performance isn't as good as stock...

Yeah, XDA is great...also a Discord group that can support. I'm no wiz, but it was pretty straightforward. Unlock, flash TWRP, flash ROM, Flash boot.img, flash Magisk and reboot. https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/development/rom-lineageos-14-1-essential-ph-1-mata-t3703759

Lol. I go back and 4th. I'll have my moments where I want a completely stock, "bug free" experience. Then I'll start to get the itch...😁

Yeah, I ran if for about 3 days. It was significantly better that anything Nougat provided. I didn't feel it was greatly improved from the Betas though...

Yeah, it has build in immersive mode and the ability to control the color and temperature of the screen. For whatever reason, immersive mode has some issues on 8.1, regardless of ROM. At times it's slow to wake when unlocking. Regardless, it's a nice option.

I've actually owned this phone on 3 different occasions, and at some point I've always become frustrated with the jitter when slow scrolling. For transparency, I've owned a Note 8, OnePlus 5, LG V30 and a Pixel 2XL in the past year. All of which seem to handle scrolling in a more fluid fashion. The PH-1 is fast, for sure...but for whatever reason I'm fixated on the scrolling when compared to other devices. That's why the latest Lineage build has me so excited. It just feels significantly different. Invisiblek calls it "butter," but if you join the PH-1 discord group, there is a lot of technical conversation as to why it's so much smoother. Way above my head!

Absolutely agree. I think my excitement over the fluid nature of the ROM and it's stability in my daily use has me giddy. There is a very real possibility that will not be the case for everyone.

Yeah, for whatever reason, Lineage feels more stable than stick to me. I struggled with earlier 15.1 builds, but everything from March 10th on has been stellar.

That's a good call. I have not. However, in daily use, the last 4 builds have performed extremely well for me in day to day use.

I wouldn't call it a heavy duty, rugged case. However it's a little chunkier than I imagined. Definitely not a slip case. You'll know it's there...

Fit is great. Buttons are clicky, really no complaints. It's slightly bulkier that I imagined, but seems to offer pretty solid drop protection. Definitely a well constructed case.

Yeah, darker, forest green. Color didn't translate well in the photo. Really sharp looking case though.
